No way was I picking it; it had to be picked for us! I'd have chosen Me & SJ too. The Earl's band was great on that one.

I'm jealous you can play piano. I've always wanted to learn..maybe someday. I got a copy of The New Standard because your description made it sound pretty compelling. Will listen to it this week and report what I think. Have a good day.

Wow, is that Herbie Hancock track a cover of Nirvana? If so, that would be interesting to hear!

Level 42!! I haven't heard them in years. They were one of my standards in college. Speaking of Death Metal (while not really my thing, the group SkinDred that opened for Gogol Bordello wasn't half bad. Nice dub underbeats. The lead sufficiently verbally abused the audience. (Psyching them up. You can't have a stiff audience for Gogol!) Cheers, melo

Hey, thanks for contributing your posting on They Might be Giants' upcoming performance. It's a shame you won't be able to see them, but hopefully you'll find a bit of comfort in your marathon.

Hey, the monkey suit makes you look sophisticated and lends credibility - don't knock it. What sort of Christmas chorale music are you singing? I'm hoping to see the Cleveland Orchestra perform Handel's Messiah (fingers crossed). I'm attempting to finish up some projects prior to year end and giving serious consideration to making a career change in 08. Wish me luck, whatever I decide!

No novel. About 1/4 of a novel I guess. What I learned from this experience is that I need to a lot more prep work. Any would have been good. I'm starting to compile some world building ideas and character descriptions for next year when I will try again. Other than that I've just been wallowing in self pity until my next production begins in January.

Ah, yes. So many suggest to me Elvis Costello, and I am indeed curious to hear some of his original music. One day, perhaps, I will give him a listen. I was going to return a suggestion with Bruce Cockburn for you, but I see you have 21 plays already. I am sure you have probably listened to anything I would recommend (I wouldn't bother recommending the others things, even if just 'cause...)

There isn't anything to approve. We're all able to post but nothing comes up when I want to post something to the group. Obnoxious!

Clampdown is one of my favorite Clash songs. Still no luck with the opera, my local library has very little available to choose from. I'll have to head to the main library downtown to find some of your recommendations.
