Thanks for the recommendations, I will look for these as a sort of Thanksgiving time off musical investigation of sorts.

The Crunge? Wow, I haven't heard that in years. Houses of the Holy was one of my favorite Led Zeppelin albums. For opera, recommend something good for a beginner? I am familiar mostly with Aida and have seen it performed 3 times live.

Wow, a terrifically varied recent track listing. Opera? I enjoy it, but know very little.

I have a funny Toad the Wet Sprocket story if you care to hear it. You're going to let me off the hook with these 3 Boston songs, yes? :) They seem so vanilla, I hear nothing original here...but perhaps these 3 songs are a terrible sample of their work.

Oh, almost forgot - your description of prog was spot on and witty, thank you. As far as Rush goes, I only know Signals and Moving Pictures tracks. Genesis only with Phil Collins, nothing while Peter Gabriel was in the band. Interestingly enough though, I know all of Peter Gabriel's solo stuff.

SAVE ME! I'm listening to Boston now and it's painful, but I always settle my bets. Unfortunately (or fortunately for me) I could only find 3 songs. I see Tori on your recent tracks; are you an admirer of her music? I LOVE her voice and I'm happy to be seeing her Thursday night.

You've just described music with which I'm completely unfamiliar. I think the only Kansas song I've ever heard was Dust in the Wind.

Btw, I noticed many of those Glass Hammer tracks have Tolkienesque names...shed some light please?

Seven game series are only good if my team wins, therefore that series sucked :) OMG, now to track down some Boston...ugh!

The bet's on! The loser has to scrobble the losing music (MSB or Boston)as well. GO TRIBE!

Wow.....that brings back some scary memories of my old volleyball coach blasting MSB on the bus home from the games we won....it was pure torture. When we lost she'd play Todd Rundgren. <shudder> That's a good wager...but what's the Boston equivalent of MSB if the Red Sox win??

DOH! I know the Indians aren't favored to beat Boston but I think it's our year! We need to get some wagers going involving music...what do you say?

Think it's more of a cut-and-paste job than a still. The background doesn't have that dusty, back alley feel like the video either.

Mikey and I decided to table last week's theme until this week since we were the only ones there. PS: Great comment on my last journal entry.

Eh, DD was just about my time. I picked it cuz of the Hall & Oates reference though!

Will do! Good choice, too - WYWH was the first real song I learned to play on the guitar. As for albums, I'll admit to repeating early Mike Oldfield stuff - but Topographic Oceans? Yikes! ;)

Well heck - I thought twas you that said Nice FOTC quote! or something like that - FOTC meaning Flight of the Conchords. I have a song lyric from them on my page. Either way, I'm sure deep down you admired it. What is with Fountains of Wayne's (FOW!) obsession with female names as song titles? And where's mine!

Hi! I think I've seen David Wilcox before...or was it Martin Sexton? The McDonald is a nice place. Saw Nickel Creek w/ Jon Brion there.
