The Almighty are back!

After a four year hiatus, The Almighty have reformed and returned with what we fans can only hope is the first of many new releases.

After the promising Just Add Life CD back in 1996, The Almighty unfortunately called it quits. Lead vocalist Ricky Warwick experimented by forming another group called , and guitarist Pete Friesen went back to play with Alice Cooper (check him out on Alice's Brutally Live DVD).

As rumour has it, one day ex-Almighty drummer Stumpy Monroe and Mr. Warwick were together when they mutually decided to reform The Almighty.

Johnny Crash, a CD that lived in my player for at least two years back in 1990. Wow, did I love this CD. I was first introduced to them in a really odd way. I had never heard them on the radio and I never saw any type of video, but I did get to hear what I suppose was one of their singles from the album, 'Hey Kid'… played by a friend of mine's band at the time.

I was always at my friend's practices and gigs so I ended up hearing this song over and over and…

The Almighty are the big arena hard rock band that never was. By never was, I actually should say in North America. While they became extremely popular in all other countries, North American success has always eluded them. I remember reading an interview with lead singer Ricky Warwick when he mentioned his latest North American tour and how weird it was. He would be talking to a Metallica cover band that they ended up touring with in the U.S. and would mention that they just played on a tour with Metallica in the U.K. The cover band didn't even believe…

Ricky Warwick has gone solo! The frontman for the hard rock outfit The Almighty has been talking about releasing a solo acoustic album and now here it is! Warwick recently toured opening for Def Leppard in North America in support for this album and man, do I wish I could've seen that show.

Fans of The Almighty's ballads and acoustic songs should eat this up. The past couple of new Almighty albums were good but they weren't 'living' in my CD player like their past efforts. This one does!

Something I really did not expect to happen, happened in the 'Peg (Winnipeg, MB Canada) last night… the Shiny Toy Guns, a small little discovery of mine through MySpace played at a small local venue, HERE!.

From L.A. California, and not really that well known, I had never in my mind expected them to play here…at least at this time. But apparently they are on tour forever and are playing even tiny locations in this back and forth tour across Canada and the U.S.

One look at their tour map and one wonders who the heck setup this tour……

Oh yeah an Anthrax bloody hell! Awesome. I saw the old Anthrax back in the day (I think it was like one of me first concerts I went to as a wee boy) open for Kiss on the Crazy Nights tour if I'm correct.

I love the old Anthrax and didn't really like John Bush Anthrax much so I'm hypes about seein' Belladonna sing again. Classic songs man.

It is weird though 'cause I love John Bush outsinde of Anthrax. I've always felt the Saint were way bettern' Anthrax back in the day.

Waholy! I actually gots meself a ticket to go see the Priest. I can't believe that I am actually gonna see them with Halford. It's something I never thought I'd ever get the chance to see.

Now I've seen almost all the biggest ol' metal bands from me high school heydey….except….MAIDEN! One day pahleeze!
