10. Ty Segall - Twins
Mostly for the live show, which knocked me out more than most others this year.
9. Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Psychedelic Pill
Have this on vinyl and although some songs don't fit on a single side it's an awesome experience playing it straight through.
8. Tame Impala - Lonerism
Just found this one, but it's been gradually moving up this list. And yeah, the guy sounds a lot like John Lennon.
7. Sleigh Bells - Reign of Terror
6. Dinosaur Jr - I Bet On Sky
Old guys rocking harder than most young guys. That Watch the Corners solo is list-worthy by itself.
5. Delicate Steve - Positive Force
Tried to see them once, and there was a fire on the Seaport pier. This album is so fun.
4. Grizzly Bear - Shields
3. King Tuff - King Tuff
I didn't realize until making this list how much I apparently love raucous guitar dudes.
2. Jack White - Blunderbuss
The man is just unstoppable. Such a great songwriter, whether by himself or with multiple bands at his disposal.
1. Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel ...
After a hesitant first listen, I got into this really intensely. Her throwaway vocal hooks are better than most bands' biggest choruses.
Recently got way into the METZ album too, partly based on an awesome live show. I spent a lot of time with Action Bronson and The Tallest Man on Earth, but neither quite made the cut, and I wanted to like the new ones by Titus Andronicus, Trash Talk, and OFF! more than I did.
And plenty more I'm still catching up on. Good year for music, right?
