Okay, so, I work in a music store (actually, it's an entertainment store with movies, music, games, and books, but I work in the music section), and Gnarls Barkley has been an extremely funny phenomenon.

Despite the fact that the CD was released on April 2nd, radio stations (at least the local ones where I live) didn't get around to playing any of the songs from St. Elsewhere until either last week or the week before. Anyway, Friday, we got 8 copies in where I work, and this morning while I was at work, I sold the last copy.

Anyway, if you do like Gnarls Barkley, you should definitely check out London Elektricity.

Apparently, you can't listen to any of the tracks from Billion Dollar Gravy, but here's the track listing from Power Ballads, and you can listen to all but 2 of the songs from that one. Personally, I like Billion Dollar Gravy better though...

Out of This World
Power Ballad
Remember the Future
The Strangest Secret in the World
I Don't Understand
Hanging Rock
Will to Love
The Mustard Song
Watching You, Watching Me
Pussy Galore
Vapour Trails
Far from the Shadows

Anyway, if you like what you hear, this album might be hard to find (at least in the US). You'll probably have to either find a store that can order CDs and have them order these for you, or just go online.

Almost forgot the mention that London Elektricity is a LIVE band and Power Ballads comes with a DVD that includes video from a concert, biographical type footage of London Elektricity on the road in Europe, biographical type footage about each of the members of the group, and 2 or 3 music videos.

Not to knock London Elektricity, or your clearly excellent taste in music (Brillant group, saw them live a couple of years ago, along with TY and The Streets - one of the best concerts I've had the pleasure of going to...), but I am curious: what is the relation between G.Barkley & L.Elektricity? G.B's soulful (with a sprinkle of hiphop I guess), whereas L.E's jungle/D&B!!

LE is fast soul music, but you're right it's got a lot more of a D&B sound. Where I really started making the connection between the two groups was Transform. That's a very jungle/d&b side of Gnarls Barkley--sounds a LOT like London Elektricity.

sounds nice, although I don't find it very much similiar to Gnarls Barkley. But hey, this sounds like some pretty cool D&B. Good music to work on :)
