Yo, the BBC sessions called Heyday is quite good. as far as studio albums go What we did on our holidays and Unhalfbricking are my favourites but any of the first 4 are great.

no problem! i am reading narcopolis (which is so disappointing uhg, i'm going to put it down forever any page now) and dhalgren (amazing) and amnesia moon (whatever). as soon as i finish a book i'm going to read this horrible-sounding title, "The Sugar Frosted Nutsack". I just picked it out randomly, I remember hearing about it last year and I try to read new fiction here and there (narcopolis, for example; the fault in our stars, for example). bolano the best! he is my favorite author!

is there australian holiday music? in america the songs are called like "white christmas" and "winter wonderland" and lyrics like "the weather outside is frightful" and that wouldn't fly in australia haha. my family's christmas isn't festive at all, we never get a tree or anything and christmas day is practically like any other day. relatives come (my uncle and aunt are here from hong kong) and i get money but that's all. i like it this way hehe. HPN is cool! i mostly just read what james brooks posts or christ ott posts. there's such a culture already i'm not sure how to make a name for myself haha

Partially through Infinite Jest but i foolishly forgot to bring it with me for my Christmas holidays. I have a really bad habit of not picking books back up, so I fear that'll probably happen here ;p

i have! to be honest something about their music turns me off though, even though it is so recklessly catchy. i have some softies mp3s but for i can't remember what they sound like, i'll check them out! i don't think it's on the demonstration tapes, they were included as the last bonus tracks on the 2007(?) reissue i think! have you heard girl's at our best!? they get called twee sometimes (i don't really think they are) and they're quite good! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF2ImyQjzyc whats holidays like in australia? sorry thats like a totally ignorant question :p

one thing i think is kind of funny is an old and fairly infamous last.fm user had tons of dolly mixture scrobbles which i have a hunch got a lot of people into them, but once he left less people seem to pick them up
