• Scrobbling with iTunes

    7 Mar 2015, 19:41

Not able to scrobble my preferred way any more, listening via iTunes due to the fact that iTunes 12 is fully 64 bit and the plugin doesn't work in it.

However, I have discovered Foobar 2000 and am happy so my scrobbles will be coming from that when I scrobble. Of course you'll also see anything I might scrobble from Spotify as well.

  • I'm Only Happy When It Rains...

    10 Feb 2008, 16:54

I'm only happy when it rains
I'm only happy when its complicated
And though I know you cant appreciate it
I'm only happy when it rains

You know I love it when the news is bad
And why it feels so good to feel so sad
I'm only happy when it rains

Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me
Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me

I'm only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are going wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
I'm only happy when it rains

I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didn't accidentally tell you that
I'm only happy when it rains

You'll get the message by the time I'm through
When I complain about me and you
I'm only happy when it rains

Pour your misery down, pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me pour your misery down
Pour your misery down pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me pour your misery down
Pour your misery down pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me pour your misery down
    Pour your misery down

    You can keep me company
As long as you don't care

I'm only happy when it rains
You wanna hear about my new obsession?
I'm riding high upon a deep depression
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me

I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me ...

  • Neighbor Radio .

    1 Nov 2006, 15:46

Found this meme whilst poking around in here, and sounded interesting. Thought I'd give it a go.

Stream your neighbour radio and write down the first 10 artists that come up and what you think of them (ignore any repeated artists).

    1. The Mamas and The Papas. Not a new discovery to me of course. I love the track that's playing, which is "Creeque Alley". It chronicles the early beginnings of the group, and is clever and amusing. I have always liked their sound.

    2. Alice in Chains. I'm not overly familiar with this band, haven't listened to them much. But I do like the track playing which is "No Excuses".

    3. Sade. Of course I have listened to Sade. She's got a beautiful voice and great style. Smooth and creamy, just sexy. The track that came up? "Your Love Is King" which happens to be one of my favorites of hers.

    4. Bryan Adams. I like him well enough I guess. A couple of songs anyway, and this track, "Summer of '69", is one of them that I do like.

    5. Tenacious D. Love. They're great. Jack Black rules anyway. The track playing is "Wonderboy".

    6. Cream. Well of course! "I Feel Free" is the track that came up and is a favorite.

    7. The Beatles. Ummm... hello! Of course I can't listen to any radio or music without my beloved Beatles coming up somewhere. And my neighbors here on Last FM don't disappoint. :) The gorgeous "Let It Be" is the track.

    8. Neil Diamond. I haven't listened to any Neil Diamond in a long while. I do like his early stuff... forgot how much! This one is "Solitary Man" and is pretty darned alright. :)

    9. AC/DC. This is a live track that came up. "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap". This band kicks ass. Seriously.

    10. The Smashing Pumpkins. Dig them. And the song playing? "Muzzle" off a great release of theirs Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Mmmmmmm.

  • Top Fifteen Meme.

    28 Sep 2006, 15:59

Post your top fifteen bands/artists, the first song you heard of theirs, the song that made you fall in love, and your current favorite.

Just taking this from what Last.FM generated as my Top Fifteen. Might or might not be completely accurate.

    1. Donny Osmond. Yes, I hear you groaning. It was Puppy Love and I was oh... what... five years old. Believe it or not though, I'm not a huge fan of that song, really. Anyway, the song that made me fall in love with him was A Million To One. That's always been my favorite "teen idol era" song of his. Current favorite? Still Broken Man.

    2. The Beatles. First song? I really don't know. I have been in love with them since I was in utero really. Let's see... the first one I vividly remember was probably I Want to Hold Your Hand. Song that made me fall in love with them? So hard to tell. I have fantastically wonderful memories of Good Day Sunshine. Current fave? Changes a lot but I really love Revolution 1.

    3. Fiona Apple. First song was Shadowboxer. It's also the song that made me really like her stuff.Criminal as well. Current favorite is Red Red Red.

    4. Aerosmith. First song was Sweet Emotion. Song that made me fall in love with the band was Walk This Way. I have my uncle to thank for this by the way. Current favorite is Pink.

    5. Prince. First song... probably 1999. At least when I really noticed him. Song that really sealed the deal was Purple Rain. Current favorite is Fury.

    6. The Doors. First song most likely was Light My Fire. Song that really did it for me was Riders on the Storm. It's also my favorite Doors song.

    7. Led Zeppelin. I have distinct memories of being very little and hearing Whole Lotta Love so I'll say it was probably that track. The one that made me fall in love was Stairway to Heaven. I grew up with this stuff... these songs were my "lullabies" as a child. :) My current favorite? That changes a lot but right this second it's Tangerine.

    8. The Rolling Stones. As with Zeppelin and The Beatles all this music was in my household as far back as I can remember so again distinct memory of being very little and hearing Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby (Standing in the Shadow). The song that made me really appreciate and fall in love with them was Ruby Tuesday. Current favorite? Still Sympathy For The Devil.

    9. Stevie Wonder. Mom used to love Fingertips Pt. 2. So probably the earliest memory of hearing a song of his. What I really fell in love with was the entire album Songs In The Key Of Life. Particularly the song Knocks Me Off My Feet. Just so lovely. My current favorite? Well that changes often but right now I've been listening to Ordinary Pain. That album is just so amazing. It's what I play the most by him if I don't have on At The Close Of A Century for the hits.

    10. David Bowie. Oh gosh... what was the first... probably Space Oddity. What really got me into him was hearing the album Hunky Dory, particularly the song Oh! You Pretty Things. Then I backtracked to catch up and then kept going. :) The one I have been listening to a lot lately, current fave, is Modern Love.

    11. Genesis. Hmm... I only discovered the band in the 80s during their big commercial Phil Collins led phase. The first song I remember hearing was probably Misunderstanding. I really fell in love with them after hearing the album Genesisand the song Mama. After that, I discovered Peter Gabriel and needed to backtrack and investigate their prog rock stuff. Current favorite is A Trick of the Tail since I've been listening to a lot of Platinum Collection.

    12. INXS. Definitely the first song I heard by them was Need You Tonight. I came in to them with Kick. Song that made me really dig them was Bitter Tears and it's still my favorite.

    13. Portishead. First song was Glory Box. It's also what really got my attention. Then I had to get the Dummy CD. Current favorite is Mysterons.

    14. Tears for Fears. The first song I probably heard was Everybody Wants to Rule the World. What made me really like them was Head Over Heels and the whole Songs from the Big Chair album. Current favorite is Mad World because it hasn't left my brain since the movie Donnie Darko.

    15. The Who. Not a song, but an album. Tommy. It's the only thing that was playing over and over in the house for awhile. Song that sealed the deal for me was Pinball Wizard most likely. Current favorite? I Can See for Miles. At least for right now.

    2. Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) - Baz Luhrmann (<a href="http://www.anysonglyrics.com/lyrics/b/bazluhrmann/everybodys.htm">words are here)</a> Not really a song, per se, no... but yeah.

    1. When The Music's Over - The Doors
    2. Dust In The Wind - Kansas

Your life has been made into a movie, and you're picking the
soundtrack. Pick a song for each of these:

    - The upbeat scene where you get ready for a day

Good Day Sunshine - The Beatles

    - The song when you're driving home in tears

Dancing With Tears In My Eyes - Ultravox

    - The epic love song

God Only Knows - The Beach Boys

    - The sex scene

    Insatiable - Darren Hayes

    - The final credits

Don't Let Me Get Me - Pink

    - One more song that doesn't make the movie, but gets on the album

She's Not There - The Zombies

    1. Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles
    2. Riders On The Storm - The Doors
    3. Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan
    4. God Only Knows - The Beach Boys
    5. Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin (yes, so be quiet. :p)

    7. Sound Of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel
    8. Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones
    9. My Generation - The Who
