Aha, my take on it would be that I need to listen to it. I'll do that and get back to you.

SOME of their funky parts I really enjoy and they play off of the more quirky portions of my personality well but others are... yeahhhhhh. Haha. Either way, good stuff overall.

So, overall i'm enjoying Free House, though it does have moments that just make me raise my brow. Oddly enough, the last.fm scrobble function seems to absolutely loathe it as it won't track any of my listens.

Aha, I literally just started the FLAC download after ending the transaction for it after listening to Sugar Water.

  • Nehebkau

Liking what I hear from Poundaround, if I were to go with one of their albums of off bandcamp would you suggest one over the other?

    Julio 2014
  • Nehebkau

Aha, yeah I got you. Hey, any mention of Gentle Giant as comparison catches my attention, I'll look into that man, thanks for the links!

    Julio 2014
  • Nehebkau

Fair enough, and I agree that Jex Thoth is awesome, though I haven't had the pleasure to hear them in a live setting. That whole scene has been experiencing quite the revival, and with such is bound to be duds for sure.

    Julio 2014
  • Nehebkau

I would have to agree. Any other psychedelic doom laden acts that you dig?

    Julio 2014
  • Nehebkau

I haven't given that an honest close listen yet just because of how let down I was by the album preceding it. I'll have to take it out for another stroll. Hey, and thanks. Sigh has been one of my favorite acts over the last few years here, and yeah The Eldritch Dark was great! I loved their material before it but I really upped the ante in a manner I wasn't expecting!

  • Nehebkau

Anything from this year been tickling your ear drums lately?

    Julio 2014
  • Nehebkau

Yeah the coverart isn't as appealing as most of Travis's work. I did like the new song with Kjetil on vocals, however. I'm throwing that band in the ole queue to check out!

More Sub Masq news, Kjetil Nordhus from Green Carnation has entered the line up. Should be an interesting dynamic with Paul's growl!

So, I've heard the songs you showed me and I thought they were perfectly well played and all, it just didn't have that thing, you know? Maybe if I listened to an album or something. I always have a hard time with newer prog rock bands. I mean, I liked it, it was better than I expected, but it wasn't nearly as good as listening to old Genesis or Yes... they reminded me of Black Bonzo though, and that's a good thing, Black Bonzo is a swedish band from the 00's, do you know them? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyZfTGbajLM

Thanks :) Your Top Ten is also brilliant, I mean, King Crimson, The Who and Led Zeppelin (not to mention Pink Floyd)? Come on, perfect perfect perfect haha ^--^ even the bands I don't listen to in your top 30 I've heard very good things about

Subterranean Masquerade? They disappeared for over half a decade, and then Tomer put out this last year. http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/reviews/859309-subterranean-masquerade-home.html and there is a full length on the way this year.

Hahaha, well, he can surely be your "least favorite" when the other two are bloody Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce!!! (one of my favorite bassplayers, BTW). The song is perfect, specially the bassline. That's one of the reasons why I love the song so much - besides the Harrison factor, hehe. It was the first "hard" bassline I learnt. That version is really good, I don't like it when Clapton does it faster!

  • rockgirlmili

I see, I'll check it out later. Thanks! I had no idea about that project, I thought he was retired and raising horses or something of the sort, haha! It sounds very interesting, same instruments as Morphine! I wonder how it sounds, in a "softer way". Ah, there are too many Cream songs that go totally unnoticed. I saw Eric Clapton a few years ago and what I was expecting was his version of Badge. That's "my" song, for a few reasons. And it was amazing to hear it live :)

  • rockgirlmili

No problem :) I think that song is amazing; but it sounds specially incredible at the R'n'R circus. Also, the Live at Leeds version is pretty awesome. Well it's good to know I'm not alone thinking the Stones are overrated! I agree with you, though Mick's charisma is definitely important (otherwise, I doubt they'd lasted long). That's so great you got to see Ginger, on what band? I love Cream, as well. I had no idea about that song; I listened to it again and I heard a vague resemblance (but it sounds a lot more prog-rock, in the Jethro Tull style). I looked that band on Grooveshark but there's nothing there, so I checked Youtube and I like it - they're a recent band I suppose?

I don't own many DVDs, but I do have a lot from the Who. The Kids Are Alright is just brilliant! Oh, and I have a mug with its cover, too. LOL. I love Traffic and I don't think I have particular favorite songs; but according to last.fm, my most scrobbled tracks are "Coloured Rain", "Don't Be Sad" and "Smiling Phases", which are all in a similar style I guess. I'm not particulary a fan of the Rolling Stones and Blind Faith was brief, yet brilliant - so I agree with your statement. Let's burn at the stake!!! hahaha! (besides, Mick Jagger can't really sing; I love how he was trashed by Ginger Baker -although he does that to everyone, even his own bandmates; oh, well!). Since we're going to do some bashing, I'll add that in the Rock'n'Roll Circus, even if it was about the Rolling Stones, they were really demolished by most of the other performances (particularly, Jertho Tull's "A Song for Jeffrey" and the Who's mindblowing "A Quick One While He's Away")

Thank you very much! I agree, Traffic should be better known. I love everything Winwood did (except in the 80's!). You too have great taste! And about the profile pic, I was watching this DVD a long time ago and I thought "that should be a .gif". I found it, and it's going to be in my profile until I find something to top that (I doubt it, haha!)
