I also discovered Martin Denny through my Dad's collection. It was the only good thing he had. Everything else was either Perry Como or Johnny Mathis. It's very hard to find Tiki other than Martin Denny. It's always lumped together with other stuff under "Exotica." I also like the surf guitar connection - Dick Dale rules. Anyway, good to see you getting back into electronica.

Back in the 90s I threw Tiki parties and did everything from exotica, cocktail, mambo, cha-cha. It was a natural extension from an interest I picked up in surf guitar that I discovered in my Dad's record collection as a small kid. Martin Denny rules. Looks like he is holding spot 20 overall in my rankings right now.
