If Reaching.’s last effort on Hoarse, the Untitled 3”, left you and still, wanting, wanting more, fear not. Slowly creeping black with a fuckton more of shredding slaying material, Evan and Hoarse re-issue last year’s ultra-limited ultra-harsh ultra-assault, Blood Is Art. It’s the voices of thousands of dead gods, channeled through pedals and speaker wires, collapsed into a wreck of rock ‘n roll former self, a bloody sea of hack-and-slash noise. Blood Is Art is no holds barred Reaching.; love songs for holy mountains and deep sea kingdoms, as loud as possible. Phenomenal.

Thirty minutes into the film, the graphic sex grinds to an abrupt halt; the girl, tied in rope, gets a bat to the head; flinches, faints, wakes up to find herself half-wrapped in bandages. Unnamed penis #1 is holding a bonesaw and takes it to her ankle, saws the foot off routinely, slow. Screams leak into the mix; unnamed penis #2 grabs a scissor, pulls out her tongue, cuts it clean off. The ho-hum of the saw and a static gurgle only remain. Dedicated to Unnamed Body #1. The horsing cut is a new venture into the avant-jazz stylings of Changzheng, now sans sax and incluis interminable wall noise. Ikodora ‘65’s side is rumbling harshness and cut-up sickness; broken sounds and manic noise blasts throughout. Good times.
