I see you have discovered Queen Electric too. I was really impressed with that record. It will definitely end up on our best of the year list. Have you been on turntable.fm lately?

I'm not sure exactly what they sound like (they have apparently 3 albums from the early-mid 90's), but after looking for them everywhere with no luck, I caved and ordered a copy of 1 off their cd "Stills." It won't arrive likely until next week (shipping from Europe), but I'll let you know if it's worth your time once I hear it.

hey, are you familiar with the 90's Swedish Pop/Rock band Dive? just curious because I stumbled upon 1 of their cds on ebay (searching for Toy Matinee and Marillion).

Guess you have heard the news about turntable.fm not being available anymore outside of U.S. due to licensing restrictions. I was quite angry about it. Anyway there are other options: mixapp, listeningroom and outloud.fm Will be checking them out today and will let you know which one if any I will be using.

hey Sarah, how's it going?, I noticed in your library Josh Rouse. My gf loves him. Have you ever heard his song "Comeback (Light Therapy)"? great, groovy/catchy tune. Also have you ever heard of the Power-Pop band The Rockwells? Here's a great tune called "She's Already Gone" Just wondering. Happy Mothers Day :)

okay, I finally heard the whole thing. I need to go through it 1 or 2 more times. I did notice things I liked, although I now am a bit wary given it seems to be a "Rock Opera" still, stressing the word "Opera" which I've had very poor success with historically. Last year, there was an album of that ilk called "Home" from a musician I like named Gavin Castleton. And it left me very sour seeming rather melodramatic and cheesy at times. Unfortunately, I'm not someone who enjoys Les Miserables or even Jesus Christ Superstar too much. I find the best conceptual records are more music-based and avoid dialogue. So, my excitement may be a bit premature right now. But I will give it some more time. As for We Valedictorians, they have a myspace and facebook, and some live videos on youtube. But I'll let you know when the recorded stuff is available.

hey thanks for the suggestion of Emanuel & the Fear! I'm digging this, although I must confess, I am hearing, especially the vocals, similarities to some groups. But the writing and arrangements seem to be good. One band they sound like they could be like is this local Minnesota band called We Valedictorians, whose debut album should be out soon. I actually introduced their frontman A&A's last year. But anyway, thanks again!

De Staat.? thanks for the suggestion! Maybe they belong in this new list I made http://rateyourmusic.com/list/SoundscapeMN/indietronica Pablos who was A&A's live drummer actually plays with Sigmund Droid. It's too bad you never saw the 'Golden Prize" video. It was outrageous.

De Staat. ? thanks for the recommendation. Maybe they should go on this list? ( http://rateyourmusic.com/list/SoundscapeMN/indietronica ) Apes and Androids (live) drummer Pablo also is in the band Sigmund Droid. "Maximum Grind" their debut ep was released last year. It's also really sad about A&A's given they made this outrageously awesome video for "Golden Prize" and it was online for about 18 hours, when the band asked it to be pulled by the film-makers. I saw it, and more people should have the chance to see it.
