Great gig - all bands were fantastic - Global Noise Attack, Ghostfire and Devilish Presley (with a special Devilish Banshee guesting on vocals).

I wrote this once already last night, but it got lost, so I'm having to do it all again :-(

Two nights ago now I saw Fields of the Nephilim at the London Astoria - I believe the first FotN gig in London for 16 years!

It was hot, sweaty and I'd had to go from work so didn't exactly have the choice of clothing I'd have preferred (though if I'd known Carl was going to be wearing braces I may have worn some of mine).

Speaking of Carl - it wasn't the old line-up as much as it was Carl with a bunch of session musicians (okay, so for all I know the people on stage are properly 'the band' nowadays).

Song-wise there was a fair mix of all the bands that Carl has been involved with, namely the classic Nephs, Nefilim and the new Nephs. Albums represented were Dawnrazor, The Nephilim, Elizium, Zoon and Mourning Sun

The White Room is a rock / alternative pub on Cleveland Street in Kingston upon Hull, past Spiders (when travelling from the town
centre).
Eating the Elephant is a regular Goth / alternative night with live bands that takes place on the first Thursday of every month at The White Room, with all proceeds going to charity (usually the Marie Curie Cancer Care but this month a friend of the organisers knows someone climbing Ben Nevis in aid of Epilepsy Action, so Eating the Elephant is showing its support for them this time).
It runs from 20:00 'til late and costs £3.50 on the door or £3 in
advance (or with a NUS card). Residents DJs at Eating the Elephant are
Von Suhl and Urban Cannibal.
