CONCERTO N°1: Mentalità (for percussions and electronics) by CoMET (Collective Electro-acoustic music from Torino) is a show of gestural music: sound becomes theatre, the music becomes narration. In the performance the percussionist explores and face his instruments, technological wastes, and common use objects, alienated via electronic technologies, and he represents, in a 5-tableau series, the anxieties of a modern man, immersed in his own dream world. Searching for a lost identity, balancing between lucid self-consciousness of the indistinct and an emotional indulge, his own inner conflicts emerged in the conflict with a post-human, post-mechanical, post-digital world, until reaching a complicated and articulated self-concept, instrument and man at the same time, technology and nature, resulting both from mediation and choice. He, therefore, immersed in a world to the edge from private and global, in which technology and nature confuse, merge and crush, the primeval humanity re-trade a self-identity, a contemporary one, in an endless fight with the surrounding environment.
