Thanks for the add brother :) You seem to be a connoisseur in Hindustani Classical music. Keep the flame alive, After all its the finest piece of art very few people care about. Take care, Greetings!

rameshhp I'd love some fresh Indian Classical suggestions. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Shahid Parvez. This guy is truly on another level.

Hi, RameshHp ! - Hope I do not present a too obsessive attitude... better I'd like to say: I try to live a devotional attitude towards Indian Classics. It's one of the purest music systems existing till today, so clean music not pollluted by modern life style aspects of trends, hypes, fashion and consuming... I have highest respect for Ghandarva Veda and as I started very late to study about Indian music since 2005 ( and later presenting ICM as a monthly radio show, see 2005-2009 topics: http://tinyurl.com/imconair-themes2005-2009-8 ) I know that my life is too short for learning all about Indian Classics... its a vast Ocean of music, I only will understand some few drops... Maybe my interests come from my background, as I was educated in Western Classics (8 years piano lessons + 2-3 years church organ) and Jazz (very similar as "modal form" and high percentage of improvisation to Hindustani)... Take care / ElJay :-) (P.S.: Is Shatatantri Media your project ?)

Thanks. What I mean is, I already know all of those more common artists... I am interested in learning about the fringes, and the history. :)

Thanks for posting the info about Raga names (on Hariprasad Chaurasia's page) Those were helpful. I'm an avid fan of Classical Indian music, but as a western musician I find the tonalities and rhythms very complex to unravel. I'll be looking into your playlist to find other sources of Indian music I might not have discovered yet. all the best

Conóceme

Love simple things in life and Indian music and food, and of course, good humor.

It makes me proud that India had found out long long ago how to live happily without causing global warming and music is a major part of it - seek contentment within yourself rather than outside.

Most favorite musicians? Here is the list:

Instrumentalists: Ravi Shankar, Shivkumar Sharma, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Zakir Hussain
Vocalists: S Janaki, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohd. Rafi, PB Sreenivos, Rajkumar, Bhimsen Joshi, Jasraj
Devotional Music: Swami Purushottamananda, MS Subbulakshmi, M Balamuralikrishna, Sharma Bandhu
Others: Shakira, Coldplay
