I went to the Jezabels Sunday evening; amazing, my ears are still beeping! First time kleine zaal Paradiso, like it a lot! Never been to Bitterzoet and not going to on short notice, have to skip Shearwater unfortunately :-( Maybe Fanfarlo in May though...Yeah, I listened to Dry the River and they totally won me over! Wanna see them live in May! Boy and Bear also suits me ;-) Pearl Jam is happening all right! Had to refresh the reservation site for like 2 hours non stop and hardly made it to a seated place in their second show in June, but I'll be there..!

Also, Shearwater has a new album out there which is much more upbeat than their previous ones (it's on Luisterpaal). And Fanfarlo's new album is also on Luisterpaal but I have to listen some more to appreciate it better, I guess...

Haha, I only knew "pretty fly" from that one song (I actually liked it back then ;-) A ticket for The Jezabels burns in my pocket during the day and at night, it's underneath my pillow ;-) Did you allready listen to the latest "Blaudzun" album, it's marvelous! I'll check out School of Seven Bells but allready know I can't make it to their 11 March gig...

Hi Hayley, best wishes for 2012! Just before Christmas I did a complete check of the agenda's of Paradiso and Melkweg, hardly anything there (so no old fart's resolution hahaha ;-) and only 2 weeks after I almost missed the Jezabels (only 10 bucks btw!)! Thanks so much for noticing!!! ;-) And for Frank Turner, I guess it's not meant to be as I will be out of the country when he's here :-( According to my stats, I listened to Dry The River in May last year but I can't remember...too much booz I reckon ;-) Will add them to my playlist someday soon... Let me take the opportunity to recommend Florence + the Machine's latest album "Ceremonials", it's pretty fly!

Hayley, ik heb een kaartje voor de Vaccines over, geef maar een gil als je 'm over wilt nemen.

Their encore had the following numbers: Anti-D, Walking Disasters and Let's dance to Joy Division. Yeah, I had to cancel Frank Turner, so according to you I missed out big time :-( Next Saturday I'm going to see Katzenjammer for the 2nd time this year, they're so vivid and really enjoying their gig so really looking forward...

Hi Hayley, yeah Luisterpaal is my main source to get to know new artists. I found O'Death there for example and The Wombats (their latest album is marvelous...). Albums stay on Luisterpaal for about two weeks and then...poefffff...gone :-( (well, if they're pretty good I buy them on Itunes). I agree with you on Blitzen Trapper's latest album; zo anders dan de twee voorgaande albums, hij komt niet overweldigend binnen vallen... So no selling it to you from my side...;-) The Arcade Fire gig, wow amazing! That Win Butler is a wizzard, seriously! And all the band members varied on instruments like Paris Hilton does rich Greek heirs...(if there are any left nowadays...). Oh, and I saw The Jezabels in this little venue in Utrecht called EKKO, brilliant accoustics! I can't wait to see The Wombats in Paradiso, I also saw your name on the visitors list BTW! ;-) Have seen any gigs recently that will not leave your memory any time soon?

Hahaha, well let's say that my delaying of gratification depends on the circumstances...;-) In case of the new Blitzen Trapper album, I'm able to hang on another couple of days...Did you allready listen to it? It should be OK considering the way their music evolves. Next Monday I'm going to see Arcade Fire, way high on my bucket list! What do you think of them? BTW the new Beirut album is for streams on VPRO's Luisterpaal (to which I listen multiple hours a day to survive work ;-P...and to discover new artists...and it also scrobbles!); http://scrobble.it/luisterpaal/

Unfortunately I missed Elbow on Pinkpop because my friend and I underestimated the taffic jams big time...:-( but we did see Coldplay at the end of the first day. Never seen them live and I enjoyed them just like you. Also seen Hurts (for the third time in one year!), Tim Knol (little bit disappointing), Wolfmother, White Lies and Kings of Leon (I don't like their music, just wanted to see their show and that was OK). On the last day Dazzled Kid, Two Door Cinema Club (no more Prozac, just listen to their music! ;-) , Kaiserchiefs and Foo Fighters (wasn't really into their music but their gig turned me around...). What's next on your agenda?

BTW, some recommendations for you: "The Jezabels" (they have 3 EP's out which are equally brilliant), "O'Death" (latest album) and "Trembling Bells" (latest album). If our taste is indeed alike, I think you will enjoy them as much as I do.

Well hello, my long lost music twin ;-) Unfortunately, I only put Beirut on "interested" and wanted to wait for their new album to get out, listen to it and then buy me some tickets...yeah right, sold out almost immediately...:-( Well, I do have a ticket for Arcade Fire and The Wombats (their latest album, amazing!), really looking forward to those gigs...Been to Pinkpop, my first festival ever, got over my camping anxiety in the process and enjoyed my ass off! How was your Glastonbury experience? Checked out all BBC-channels and it looked amazing (the mud excluded, or is that a must have?).

Truth be told I wanted to watch Beyonce, QOTSA and Kool & The Gang but I was destroyed when it came time to actually seeing one of them.... by that point I had become so acquainted with the cabaret tent I simply couldn't bare to tear us 2 apart!

Ta for pointing me to Matt Anderson, I really loved his performance and for whatever reason didn't make a note of who it was :) Liking the album as well, thanks for not letting that great talent totally pass me by as nothing more then a mysterious stranger I saw at a festival :D Also finished my review if you want to read more poorly written and misspelt nonsense :)

En wow, you're going to Glastonbury! Ga zelf voor 't eerst naar Pinkpop maar da's natuurlijk een kleuterschool vergeleken bij 'Bury...

British, and totally cloggified, living in Holland until August 2012. I'm nuts about books, art, North Korea, Guy Garvey, Henry the 8th (and wives 2, 4 and 5) and Newcastle, my home town. I speak Dutch fabulously, maar in het engels, ben ik veel grappiger en bij de hand. ;-)

My super-eclectic score is currently

The most similar artists for my profile are The Head And The Heart (7), Bon Iver (6), Great Lake Swimmers (6), Blind Pilot (6), Fleet Foxes (6), The Leisure Society (6), Vampire Weekend (5), Cherry Ghost (5), The Avett Brothers (4), Josh Pyke (4)
