I was thinking about 50 Foot Wave from your women and math rock journal. Something about the odd counting rhythms, the chord progressions, the song structures: it's not math rock exactly, but it's getting close.

Dude, you are doing it RIGHT with this here profile. Am I adding you for your excellent taste, inclusion of Hall & Oates on your clap list, or just to read your journals on my dashboard? The world may never know.

During a recent and particularly stressful financial audit, the Schultz Library computer network inadvertently played 265 songs by Stereolab that were not actually listened to by human beings, yet posted to last.fm, in a marathon 20.8 hour stretch of accounting and negotiations that happened in another room. Mr. Smith regrets the error.

Oxygen Smith was born on May 4, 1917, in Davis, Manitoba. In his early years he worked in such capacities as funeral director, music radio host and graphic designer. At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936, Mr. Smith registered and fought for a year for the Second Spanish Republic. Mr. Smith worked for the US Department of Typography (now subsumed under the Department of Weights and Measures), during which time he reached the highest plateau of his working life, the cracking of a crime ring financed by counterfeit versions of Helvetica. Upon inheriting the Annalee Schultz Community Library in Davis, Manitoba, Mr. Smith returned to Canada, where he became active in agrarian politcs. He was the last surviving member of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF), and refused to rejoin under the reorganization of the CCF as the New Democratic Party in 1961. In that year he met, courted, and married Helen Biota of Pullarme, Saskatchewan. Ms. Biota later revealed that as a teenager in the early 1940s, she was the mysterious "Wheatfield Astrologer," the spiritualist who was a rumored advisor to Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King on metaphysical matters.
