  • I have become 4 points more eclectic!

    18 Abr 2010, 13:38

I think this means I have matured as a human being:

Take your top 20 artists. For each of these artists, collect the top 5 similar artists. The resulting number of unique artists is your eclectic score. If the score is small (extreme = 5) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80, extreme = 100), then you have an eclectic musical preference. You can compute your own score at http://anthony.liekens.net/pub/scripts/last.fm/eclectic.php

    My eclectic score is currently

    96/100

The 96 related artists for my profile are A Tribe Called Quest, Alanis Morissette, Alizée, Army Navy, BLACK ERA, Bauhaus, Ben Kweller, Beulah, Bishop Allen, Camouflage, Ciccone Youth, Cloud Cult, Coldplay, Cypress Hill, Daft Punk, Danielle Dax, Dave Gahan, David Gilmour, De/Vision, Destroyer, Dinosaur Jr., Dolores O'Riordan, Expatriate, Faultline, Brian Molko & Françoise Hardy, Franz Ferdinand, Free Kitten, Garbage, Gerard Bauer & Mike Bauer, Giulio Caccini & Paul Pritchard, Gnarls Barkley, Grace Valhalla, Greg Baumont, House of Pain, IAMX, Islands, Jack White, Jason Falkner, Jonny Greenwood, Kasabian, Led Zeppelin, Lee Ranaldo, Martin L. Shining Star = <3.

We're playing this song in Jazz Band... it's incredibly fun to play and to listen to. It's very cool. Possibly even cooler than What Is Hip and that song sooo rocks.
    Seriously.
    Funk is awesome.

That would make a GREAT sequel-crossover-mania film.

  • WOW, that's weird...

I came across Ukraine's page - http://www.last.fm/place/Ukraine - which is where I was born and lived for a good deal of time - and their top track is Supermassive Black Hole by Muse. HOLY NUTCRACKERS! I've been listening to that like 24/7 on my mp3 player (and, yes, the only thought going through my head: damn, this isn't getting scrobbled... all that music, going to waste... :p) Anyway, I just thought that was kinda weird and cool.
  • 1000 Tracks! :: PARTY ::

    5 Sep 2006, 1:59

    Yay, I hit 1000 tracks!
I *was* going to listen to Feeling Good for the 1000th track because it's currently my favourite song, but I actually ended up listening to Pink Floyd for awhile and A Pillow of Winds became the 1000th track. I'm not going to change history and delete a scrobbled track just to revert to the original plan because this is a sacred thing. Not every day does a nerdy teenager hit a 1000 tracks. Hmm, on the other hand, let me rephrase that :p
  • Stacks are hot

Back in the day when I bought my Crate (XT15R 15W amp), I had no idea what amps are supposed to do and not do. No offense to the little cutie, my Crate sucks. It's like a tiny radio. Except there's no STFU knob. Here I am, playing Matallica, and I suddenly hear, with rising dread, Hollaback Girl or some other country crap like that. Dizzamn. NOT cool. So, at this point, I'm looking around at >=25W amps. And I see, the holy freaking grail of "under $500", the Stack of Life -- Crate GT1200H/G412SL Half Stack. :: drool ::
(Note: I do my online music looking-around at http://www.musiciansfriend.com, but I never buy equipment online, because you gotta feel it. YEEAH. :p)
Also, I realized I have Muse's Absolution in a folder... with all the files corrupted. Naturally, I went and got some of the better songs. Muse is good. It's the stuff.
