Thanks for friending me! Gotta love a chick who quotes Pope in her profile. Happy listening from beautifully autumnal Australia.

Michael Gira's hair : unpredictable, wild, grey, and long. Ohhh I was sitting on a floor at the venue, one meter from the church's pedestal he was sitting on with an acoustic guitar and the most powerful voice I have ever heard live. I must say, he is way better solo, than with Swans at present, unfortunately. Jesus, I was so pleasantly surprised he played She Lives from The Great Annihilator... Jeez, wish he played Failure, but he didn't. Man, how are you?

Nope... not a fan of these things, I'd rather resemble a green blob that can type. Listen to this, tomorrow when I'm at Vapor Trails, I will think of little Allie.

He really is. You play the piano. That sorta fits to the music you dig. :) I play the guitar and I have some hard times trying to manage a Ludovico piece since I'm not that good at it. ^^ Have you heard about the band called Among Savages? They have great songs and you might like'em. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll4Nh4qNxAk

Yeah, they play Mumford & Son's on the radio here in the Twin Cities... I know that sounds odd, but they do. Good vibe and what catches my ear is the authenticity. I guess that's also partly due to the instrument choice. Which in turn is one of the reasons I like 'newgrass' or progressive bluegrass. Its old timey instruments, played up-tempo with the speed of a thrash band. Heh… no there’s not a lot of demand for historical epidemiologists… always thought that was odd (pfffffffffff). Now, I’m a Quality Software Engineer for a large corporation; which is cushy. And while daydreaming I’m an inspiring itinerate doom-bluesman. Oh, which reminds me… If you have the hands of a surgeon, then you’ll be an excellent musician. ‘Fo Sho. Cheers!

Hey girl! Thanks for adding me to your friendslist. Great pleasure to meet someone who also listens to Ludovico Einaudi. You're pretty indie, huh? ;)

HA! Don't worry about the sound of your voice, it's yours and only the big man upstairs was the one that gifted it to you. One of the running gags in our band is that when one of us gets fustrated with trying to hit notes or get a specific 'sound' we croon Bob Dylan or Tom Waits. If those gentlemen (outstanding song writers in their own right) can get people to listen to them, anyone can. As for when I started learning how to play instruments, it was in grad school. It was a good break from the epidemiological studies I was doing. Ps. I saw that you 'loved' 'helplessness blues' from Fleet foxes. I also adore the song but as a strong individualist scratch my head at the lyrics at times. Cheers!

Love Modest Mose. They have some really loud songs that are not so modest. (Laughing out loud). Never heard of their album "This Is a Long Drive to Someone with Nothing to Think About". Only listened to are "We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank" and "Good News For People Who Love Bad News". The album with the songs"Custom Concern" and Dramamine are from the older album. Didn't know they were around for so long. The 90's!

I never received any actual training but I can play (competently, I might add) guitar, bass guitar, drums and sing. I’d have to say that my best combo is with guitar and singing but I have to a lot of vocals on drums for our music. When you only have three people in a band, you better be squeezing every ounce of talent… and not that there’s much to squeeze mind you. Cheers!
