It’s been months since our last guest mix, but we’re back to the feature with a mix by UK-based Polish musician Ela Orleans.
“There are some things I grew up on and music I have been going back to these days in search for inspiration and guidance in finding perfect sound ha ha.” Hah, and that’d be a weird mixture of hip-hop, avant-garde, jazz, swing, soul, psychedelic, experimental, classical, pop and electronic music. There are a few exclusive tracks too. “I am working for Clan Destine Records and big part of my life is dedicated to the label now. Some tracks on the mix are coming from its upcoming releases. There are some gems I would like to point out – Spastic Joy, Young Offenders, ASSS and KVB – true talents and great personalities”, she said. Welcome to the world of Ela Orleans:
01. Wu-Tang Clan – Fast Shadow
02. Jean-Jaques Perrey – E.V.A
03. Buddy Rich – Beat Goes On
04. Spastic Joy – The Mission
05. Paul Nero – This Is Soul
06. The KVB – Nightmares #2
07. Johnny Keating – Getaway
08. Stanley Myers – Main Theme from Sitting Target
09. Jeanette – Porque Te Vas
10. Party Trash – Night Flash
11. Young Offenders – Bleeding Heart (Dream of God)
12. Photek – The Hidden Camera
13. Cool Sounds – Where Do We Go From Here
Ela Orleans also shared some details on two upcoming releases. Her new full-length Mars Is Heaven should be out by the end of September on La Station Radar/Atelier Ciseaux. “There are 8 tracks, more experimental, more composed and integral without being million miles away from what I have been doing so far. I still am far from the idea of having a band but more and more attracted to orchestration and musical space.” Another release set for this fall is the remix LP Ela Orleans and The Prophets on Clan Destine Records. “It will consist of remixes of my past work made by the finest artists I met in the last few years, there is a lot of contributors working on stuff right now – some serious surprises and a few predictable choices – all genuinely and carefully selected.” Looking forward to it!
