Haha yeah that's funny, isn't it? Mainly Sum 41 and blink-182 got me interested in music. Without those 2 I'd still be listening to Akon, Lil Wayne and whatever is in the top 40. Right now I'm more into garagerock, 80s new wave and old punk stuff. Your library is really good. Nice combination of oldschool rockbands and bands that keep the rock n roll spirit alive today. :-)

Yeah, Kendrick's really impressed me. I would start out with Section.80. His flow and production are both more raw, and the latter has more of a west coast vibe. I think it sets you up better for Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, which is a little more polished, though perhaps more cohesive of an album.

No worries! I'd rather a long post than a short post. Or no post at all! I guess that is an uncommon choice. I have to admit that I haven't listened to "Real Gone" although I have no doubt in my mind that it is a great album. The only post-80s Waits albums I have listened to in full are "Blood Money" and "Bone Machine". Both of which I enjoyed immensely. My favourite would perhaps be his debut. It was the first Waits album I listened to and I found myself returning to it a lot. Love that jazzy feel to it. "The Heart of Saturday Night" is probably my third favourite after "Rain Dogs". I still have a long way to go in my Tom Waits journey though!

Amazing taste :) What is your favourite Waits album?

Haha. Absolutely. Dylan, Springsteen, and Waits are my holy trinity.

Thank you! And I agree! I love everything by the Hold Steady, so it's hard for me to pick a favorite, but Separation Sunday is unquestionably a masterpiece of songwriting. Did you know that the band that plays on the solo album by Craig Finn, the Hold Steady frontman, includes one of the guys from Heartless Bastards? Probably you did, but just wanted to make sure, haha.

I'll definitely check some of your top artists, I never really listened to Silver Jews & Son Volt. But Fugazi + Ryan Bingham + Hank III + Tom Waits + My Bloody Valentine = Win.
