A pivotal moment for a numberfreak like me: 10.000 tracks played since registering with last.fm!

A nod to the very first song that I played on last.fm and that started it all. Plus it gives a sunny outlook on the thousands of tracks that will follow!

I've played these tracks over a period of 7 months, which boils down to an average of about 330 tracks/week or 47 tracks/day. Not that impressive when you think of it, but keep in mind that I listened to every single one of these songs. People expect me to work during the day, which means a lot of meetings and design sessions, which in turn means no last.fm submissions. Dito at home, I try to have a social life (…) and when that takes place outdoors, no last.fm submissions.

last.fm has proven to be a valuable addition to my life. Of course I've always been fond of music. But last.fm combines that passion with one of my personality disorders traits, my love for numbers. It's a challenge to see your musical taste of the moment reflected by plain ol' numbers, which in turn can lead to over-playing a song, artist or album in a feeble attempt to reflect your current craze. "Feeble" because after some time you have to play other tracks more frequently because they start drifting down on your charts due to the high rotation of the previous tracks. Argh!
