Congrats for the play against Germany! I guess this must be a happy year for you (except for the Bayern München flop in the CL): first Germany wins the world cup, then Poland beats Germany. :) We are also happy, because Hungary played a 1-1 draw against Romania in Bucharest, first, Romania is the arch enemy for Hungarians (not so much in football as in everything else), second, we haven't been able to score a goal in Bucharest since 1972, third, we haven't been able to achieve a draw (much less a victory) since 1981, fourth, a Hungarian team playing down with a goal for a full half time and *then* equalizing (and almost scoring a winning goal - a question of a few centimeters) is something unheard of. Either we score the first goal, we equalize within a few minutes, or we're doomed. And now our team showing something of a backbone, fighting even at a disadvantage, and that against the Romanians with their intimidating 70 thousand fans throwing crackers into the field...

Yes, the summer hot days usually do, but it depends on the region, but here in São Paulo and some southern states are not used to such heat. Here in Brazil there places that never gets cold, the Brazilian Northeast is always sunny. The Rio de Janeiro is also very warm, but in my opinion the worst place is the Amazon region, it is hot and humid, is a "green hell" =)

I have to agree with you, at the time that the "ball is rolling", the people will forget everything and just want to party =). And how are you? Very cold and snowy in Poland?

Thank you, dear! But I think the World Cup will be a "disaster"! Most Brazilians are against holding the Cup due to high costs, that is the truth! I think there will be many protests and I think the Brazilian team will not win this Cup! Do not believe everything is fine here, there are many lies behind this event.

At least you have a few good players (in places like Dortmund), and at least you somehow qualified in 2004, 2006, 2008, and even in the 1980s were better than us. Our glorious era is so far back that virtually nobody is still alive who has seen anything of it. The quality of the coaches/managers is the worst thing we have, unfortunately there is a racket of them preventing anybody else from breaking up their grip on Hungarian football, and whenever a foreign manager comes they quickly make life difficult for him. Also, the poor quality coaches are then creating the next generation of clueless Hungarian football players unable to play modern football, still stuck in the 1970s or 80s.

After Friday's catastrophe in Amsterdam, we almost lost against Andorra today. I haven't seen the match, only heard from others and read the reports, in the first half we didn't have any good opportunities, as opposed to the Andorrans... Fortunately the goalkeeper was good, and then in the second half we managed to score once, and the Andorrans gave us an own goal as well. So 2:0, we secured a third place in the group, no more dreams of Brazil.

At least Poland has had several players who are great at the Champions League level. Hungary since 1986: 1) has not participated in any tournament (neither WC nor EC, Poland at least qualified for the 2008 EC) 2) has only had two teams in the Champions League group phase (I don't know anything about Polish statistics) 3) has not had any players playing for any time in any top team (by "top team" I mean a team which is a regular CL participant in the spring). Currently Szalai Ádám is the closest to this with Schalke 04. However, I agree that Poland underperforms compared to her size: Poland is a country of 38 million, and any other country in Europe with at least 38 million inhabitants performs better (often even smaller countries perform better). Same thing for Hungary: any country with at least 10 million inhabitants perform better, often even smaller countries...
