When I say PEANUT, You say *ZEBRA!

Sat 16 May – Manchester Orchestra, Fun, Audrye Sessions, Winston Audio

Scene: Standing literally front and center, dodging the frequent showers of spit and sweat from Andy as he busted out relentlessly on a small yet intimate stage at the Biltmore.

After being a bit down when I discovered I had lost my credit card at some point in the last few days... I was in need of lift! && 'FUN' didnt disappoint! They lived up to their name in true style, putting me in a rather upbeat mood due to their rambunctious musings! (seriously those guys played a sweet set, couldnt stop smiling... Which is always a good sign!)

Anyone that was there would agree that Andy and the boys provided the room with straight up solid, raw entertainment!

I was stoked at the bands choice of songs... Especially 'I can barely breathe' and 'Sleeper 1972'
The set list was as follows:

- Pride
- Shake It Out
- Ive Got Friends
- In My Teeth
- Wolves At Night
- Golden Ticket
- I Can Barely Breathe
- Where Have You Been
- Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard (Paul Simon cover)
- My Friend Marcus
- Everything To Nothing
- The River

*** Sleeper 1972 was also in there somewhere although it didnt appear on the bands set list!

All in all... An awesome gig. Met some good people, drank some good beer, heard some good songs, and a good hangover to top it all off! =)

Until next time kids...

Good review... My head's not that clear on that night but wasn't it: "When I say Peanut, you say Zebra." And you forgot to mention the brief cover of "The Reasons" by "The Weakerthans". I'm not sure many people realized what it was but when I recognized they were covering the Weakerthans, it really made my night.

Oh yes you are right... I Think it was Zebra! Cheers! I seem to have mixed up my Wild African Animals! I shall make the relevant adjustments! =)
