Hey there, see you are attending Allo Darlin in Leeds! The wonderful Greg Holden from New York is coming to play at The Library at Leeds and I though you might be interested. Here is the link! :) http://www.last.fm/event/3153725+Greg+Holden+at+The+Library+on+14+April+2012

Yup, I'll be there on Monday - saw TWP in Wolverhampton earlier in the year, a fine gig - but I think 2012 is going to be the year.. new album & seamonsters played live :)

yeah it was especially annoying because the perpetrators seemed really into some songs - and not necessarily all the obvious ones - and the next droning on about what other gigs they'd been to KEEP IT TO YOURSELF TA. still an amazing night though, did you dig it?

cheers - not sure how this Lastfm lark works. seems to be just telling the world what I'm listening to far! Hopefully it will be a good place to find new music.

I remember telling you about my "favourite album of every year since 1964" list and you expressing interest. I revised it today... for your viewing pleasure/displeasure http://rateyourmusic.com/lists/list_view?list_id=251617&show=25&start=0

Haha, actually I'm such a Brit Pop guy I just got legitimately emotional listening to Being Brave by Menswear...

Oh, I love Pulp. More so than I do the Manics these days. I'm on of those strange people who sees This Is Hardcore as the best thing they did. Especially Glory Days, seldom have I related to a song so much. I think the Manic's point (that I don't really agree with) was that while Common People had positive intent, it still reinforced stereotypes of working class people who "dance, drink and screw". Where as for all their faults the Manics expressed the ethos that you can be working class and a cross dressing-existential liteature wearing ponce, or anything you want to be, which always appealed to me.

I totally agree. Much as I love Stuart Isobel's retort is the more classy and reasonable of the two sides to the tiff. Isobel gets a lot of shit from B&S fans, almost a bit of Yoko Ono figure, probably because she's v.pretty and also percieved as a bit aloof and moody. A Design for Life by the Manics was a retort to the attitudes to the working class in both Girls and Boys by Blur, and Common People so two for the price of one there. Also there's Sweet Home Alabama by Lynard Skynard a pointed retort to Neil Young's Southern Man and Alabama.

That was the plan, but it doesnt look so anymore. Last time I saw them in NYC I flew over especially. This time my housemates are putting them on in Manchester, so this time it will be right on my floor step. In a cathedrial, going to b emost beautiful. I hope you enjoy the tour/album!
