Does that mean you have a new iPod now?! And yay, The National. Going to see them with Jane in November!

Very brave move. No matter how embarrassing my taste in music gets I don't think I could ever restart.

I like how our music compatibility is slowly getting better - we started as so low it didn't even register, now it's just "low"!

I actually can't believe you did that, my stomach wobbled and everything.

We must have some kind of subconcious link of awesome. You like him? I saw him at the Poly a few weeks back, he was so so good.

Hey, just found out that tickets to see Brand New came on sale a few weeks ago. Don't know if you already knew but thought it'd be a shame if you missed them, they're touring in February. Sadly I missed tickets in Manchester and no-one can afford London with me but I might buy some anyway. Either way, thought you and Julia might enjoy it or something, and it'd be sad if you didn't know they were coming! Hope it's all good xx

Mark how have you scrobbled Daniel Martin Moore when he isn't on Spotify or lastfm?! Is it this crazy new thing you've talked about?

I haven't listened to any new bands regarding Glastonbury. A very poor show from me - just haven't got around to it at all, daaaaaarn

I'm also really enjoying the Naked and famous, thanks for that. Need to get on glastonbury playlist. I'll be free and bored soon and compile all sorts of playlists :)

Lol yes, I was listening to Twin Atlantic and Simeon suggested lots of Scottish bands. I may have made a Scottish playlist on Spotify. I am happy with it, I hope it's not a phase.

First correspondence and not the last I feel, my next door neighbour! I see you've been listening to quite a bit of Tubelord. What are they like, as they've been suggested to me as a band I might like given my love of Pulled Apart By Horses x

I do actually like that Birdy cover of Skinny Love. I will not be ashamed.

Hey, ah well Best Coast, I have sort of mixed feelings about them, it's weird. They're not my usual thing really, it's very surf pop (The Drums-esque) but a bit girlier... lyrics aren't particularly deep or inspiring and melodies are simple but for some reason I can't stop listening to them! I see you're a laura marling fan - anyone who likes laura AND death cab definitely has good taste - so have you listened to much Johnny Flynn? I've been mildly obsessed with him for a while, and he is really really great live too. I see you're going to the Foo Fighters gig in July, man I'm jealous. A friend and I were thinking of going, he's a Biffy obsessive and I love Death Cab... but it felt a bit stupid to go when neither of us are particularly into Foo Fighters.. hmm... and Death Cab NEVER tour over here it sucks !!

You like Broken Bells? First half of that album I get on very well with, then it kinda trails away into nothing (I think)

Freelance Whales are awesome :p saw them at last year's Reading. My favourite song's probably Location but the whole album is amazing. I hope they release another one soon. And glad I could help with the revision music, any ambient music is so good for it. I'm loving ambient post rock at the moment! Bought Message To Bear's album off of this brilliant website called bandcamp: Artists can sell their music for any price at any quality (including lossless!).

haha, yeah, Port Blue is the side project of Adam Young (owl city). The reason its got so many plays is because its awesome revision music :p really ambient, non distracting. I was listening to Brian Eno for that, but I wore that out. haha. I've got a shocking amount of scrobbles this week. I need to get out of my house! haha.

Hey Mark! How's it going? I decided I would swing by your profile and see what you're listening to atm, liking William Fitzsimmons quite a lot! (especially his cover of I Kissed A Girl, of course). That is all. :p

I think having an identity crisis when it comes to music is brilliant, don't ever find your 'identity' you'll stop finding new stuff haha

Currently seem to be going through an identity crisis music wise.
Jumping around a bit.

However, here's a what I'm enjoying for the first time:

Pre August '10: Death Cab, Brand New, Reuben, Counting Crows, Biffy Clyro, Muse, Bloc Party etc.

August '10: Laura Marling, Stornoway, Say Anything, Two Tongues

September '10: Iron and Wine, Tubelord, Circa Survive, Imogen Heap (in a bigger way), The Gaslight Anthem

October '10: Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Klaus, (bits of) Liam Frost, Zero 7, Two Door Cinema Club, Freelance Whales

November '10: Tom Yorke, Radical Face, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Air, Nick Drake

December '10: James Vincent McMorrow, Tellison, Bombay Bycylce Club

January '11: William Fitzsimmons, Paper Route

February '11: Mice Parade, Junip, Little Comets, Jumping Ships

March '11: Johnny Flynn, Devendra Banhart, Tall Ships

April '11: Glasser

May '11: A Genuine Freakshow, The Naked and Famous, Twin Atlantic, Air, Broadcast 2000,

June '11: Marmaduke Duke

July '11: Cold War Kids, Dry the River

August '11: Paulo Nutini,

September '11: Jónsi

October '11: Foster The People, To Kill a King, Enya, Sunny Day Real Estate

November '11: Dutch Uncles

December '11: Jose Vanders, Grouplove, Fei Comodo

January '12: The Antlers, Trophy Wife

February '12: 3=Car, Chapel Club,

March '12: Boy & Bear, Los Campesinos!

April '12: Tokyo Police Club, As Tall As Lions, Alt-J, Clock Opera, Diagrams, tUnE-yArDs, Childish Gambino

May '12: Feist, Real Estate

Annoyingly, I let slip for about 10 months, and it never logged a lot of Spotify/iPod plays anyway, so I'm resetting all plays in March 2013 and starting with a clean slate. I'll keep the above list; some of the bands in there might otherwise be forgotten.

Top 15 artists at that time:
- Death Cab for Cutie:
- Iron & Wine:
- Bombay Bicycle Club:
- Spring Offensive:
- Biffy Clyro:
- Brand New:
- City and Colour:
- Counting Crows:
- Reuben:
- Elle Milano:
- Sufjan Stevens:
- Coldplay:
- Bloc Party:
- Foo Fighters:
- Laura Marling:
