Yeah, I understand, just find it kind of funny that you started with their worst one.

"Romance is Boring" is Los Campesinos!'s worst album (not to say that it's not good, just that it's their worst.)

  • YourGeometry

Don't take it personally, I reset my play count and it deleted a bunch of artists for some reason. It'll climb back up.

    Justice. Cool stuff.

    It's about bloody time.

Woah then we've gone up a lot. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lRyeLb2-97A/TTDCFw-gCpI/AAAAAAAAAd4/no-N6oS2Bsk/s320/mr_burns.gif

OH BOY HOW BOUT IT?!?!! :P Were we not super before?

They're both great records in their own rights, but they're so different that they're not really comparable. If I was to compare them, "Avery Island" is more consistent (as in, every song has merit) while there are a couple of lacklusters on "Aeroplane", but "Aeroplane" is still better overall.

    It's about time.

Happens to me every once in a while. It's really annoying.

They're both good, but the first has a few boring tracks. Can't say the same about Pinkerton.

    Abril 2011
  • YourGeometry

Pinkerton > The Blue Album. Just saying.

  • YourGeometry

Alright, at least you tried. I'm not a giant fan but they have a lot in common with early Weezer. And apparently the feud was caused by a single lyric, which would make it a pretty stupid argument.

NICE, "We Shall All Be Healed" is one of the most underrated Mountain Goats albums. // Do you listen to Pavement?

    Abril 2011
  • YourGeometry

I haven't listened to it in quite some time (it's inspired me to get into older rap which is better than Kanye) and that doesn't explain Eminem.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

How can I be a hipster if I have some Eminem/Kanye plays? Destroyed.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

    Blink-182? Seriously?

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

Will have to listen again, I don't really get more than a general impression from one listen of any album. I'll check out their second album a little later on.

Lyrics are okay at best, but besides that, The Rural Alberta Advantage is really good.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

Good news, I'm going to listen to the Rural Alberta Advantage.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

Believe it or not I used to listen to 50+ tracks per day (at least according to the Last.FM play counter.) Then I stopped listening to music for a month or so for some reason (video games or something?) and my play count plummeted. Something like that happened recently as well but I'm starting to listen more.

I get what you're saying. Though, while I'm not a huge fan of rating music, RYM makes a great catalog/reference tool. I could also see it being useful years down the road when I forget about stuff I've listened to in the past.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

Just keeping an open mind and giving it a chance. Last.FM isn't the best way to determine what someone likes/dislikes; I use Rate Your Music for that. // Speaking of which, make an RYM account. http://rateyourmusic.com/

All in jest. Except for the fact that "Pulled Up" is great.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

"Pulled Up" is a great song. About time you liked something good.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

    What a waste of a 400th post.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

Maybe if you would stop listening to a select group of bands constantly, we wouldn't have this problem.

    Marzo 2011
  • YourGeometry

They probably won't be, especially considering that I'm only scrobbling about 1 out of every 5 plays or so of that album.

    Febrero 2011
  • YourGeometry

Because I listen in albums, thereby increasing many of an artist's songs at once every time I listen to them. Therefore, Kanye's new album is my most scrobbled.

    Febrero 2011
  • YourGeometry

Point taken. I will abstain from insulting your currently-listened-to music.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

Now if only the myriad plays went towards something good instead of ADTR... :P

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

Congratulations. You have less of a life than I do. :D

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

Hence why you are a jerk.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

Don't lie about going to the library. Maybe you've learned your lesson.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

If my iPod would actually scrobble more than half of its plays, it'd be even higher. That said, play count means next to nothing. (...But mine is higher. :P)

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

Again, I'm going by the don't-knock-it-until-you-try-it thing... which, of course, requires trying it. (By the way, I didn't actually listen to the Outkast album twice but my iPod glitched up and doubled the plays. Which sucks, because I wasn't a huge fan of it.)

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

Also, just because I listen to it, doesn't mean I adore it. Outkast is pretty average and Big Boi is good but nothing spectacular; no way to know if it's good if it doesn't get a listen, though, and those that are enjoyable (even if they're not quality) deserve multiple listens.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

By listening to bands/genres outside of the "traditional" rotation, does that not just make me more well-rounded musically? (Didn't want to pull that card but didn't know how to reword it.) Also, I believe the phrase don't-knock-it-until-you-try-it fits here.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

I'm actually rather far from a hipster... and you're insulting my recent plays when you've listened to Muse and Pomplamoose in the last 7 days? Oh, the hypocrisy... (also agree with TRB.)

    Enero 2011
  • TheRollingBones

Hey whatever man, your tunes are your tunes. Just.. don't care for Sum 41 is all.

    Enero 2011
  • TheRollingBones

v Sum 41 is also a problem. A much larger one than AFI, if I do say so myself.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

I'm actually unloving that one. It's good but not great. Also, you like A.F.I. Which is a problem.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

You're listening to Doolittle wrong. Usually people listen in order.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

It does. It's not just Kanye West; if I was to listen to ANY album a certain amount of times that would put it leagues ahead of other albums, that would completely imbalance charts. Besides, the only times I've turned scrobbling off were the last few listens of Kanye and a couple of Eminem tracks because I was trying to find out if I liked him or not (which, it turns out, I don't.)

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

In situations where it would destroy my charts, yes.

    Enero 2011
  • YourGeometry

I've listened to the album about 4 times with the scrobbler off also. That should say something about the album.

    Diciembre 2010
  • YourGeometry

You like ADTR. Your opinion is void.

    Diciembre 2010
  • YourGeometry

Solution: LISTEN TO KANYE. // New album is just okay and the songs I've heard from Neon Bible were incredibly lackluster, but Funeral is terrific. What are you smoking?
