Conóceme

My main profile is m6wg4bxw. Because of some limitations with Last.fm, I have chosen to segregate my scrobbles for and closely related styles. Scrobbles dated prior to 5 May were migrated from my main profile.

Preferences:

Vocals - Dislike. Exceptions for brief shouts and backing ah’s (see: Misirlou. This is a very strong dislike. In fact, I outright hate what bands like the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean do vocally.

Guitar Distortion - Mixed. I don’t mind some rougher sounds, but the greater the distortion, the less I enjoy it. I prefer the sound not stray far from the traditional style.

Drum Solos - Dislike. I can tolerate some of this, but prefer to avoid it. I listen to this genre for the guitars; not the drums.

Saxophones / Horns - Mixed. For me, it depends on the song and the sax. I think some is great, and some is horrible.

Hotrod / Space / Horror / Spy themes - Mixed. As long as it sounds like surf rock, I don’t otherwise care. The spy stuff, among these, has the most pronounced style to it, which doesn’t much appeal to me. Some of it is decent; especially that which is closer to the surf rock style.

Sound Effects - Mixed. Waves, gulls, and other beach sounds seem fitting to me. Hotrod sounds seems to be the one exception I can think of. There is nothing cool about revving motors and squeeling tires. It’s lame and annoying.
