and i'm really appreciative of you actually taking the time to respond to me. at first i was intimidated, and didn't think you'd want to speak to boring 'ole me. i added you because i am interested in who you are. is that weird of me? haha.

i think for Sylvia, it was easier to have that wall up. it's what kept her from spiraling out of the control she needed. i think it's true too that it's hard to be completely honest though. i know i edit the truth in whatever i'm writing all the time. i want to learn how to be bare as bone. Sibylle Baier is really good, very clear and honest. Alela Diane is like her in that way. i love what Alela reveals about her life. it's painful stuff it feels like, but yeah, it isn't her wallowing, but confronting and overcoming.

that's good that they shaped how you felt about yourself. i don't think Sylvia Plath did that for me. she only provided something that i never knew writers could provide for the reader. to this day, i never understand immediately what she is trying to say. i just love the structure of the poems, the language, the kind of unsettling happy tone used to help tell the confession. i don't know, it seems like Sylvia held up walls when writing. she was honest in what she told, but not honest in deliverance. ah, i'm rambling. sorry. i see you listened to Alela Diane, did you pick that up from me? how did you like her?

so, eighteen years old. no one i know my age understands why i love Sylvia Plath or Anne Sexton. they never open a book, actually. i feel a little alienated for that reason that i read but, whatever. i'm familiar with both Poe and Whitman, but i can't say i have read anything by them. what did those poets do for you?

i don't think my username defines who i am, only who i was, a lover of Plath's word. i think it was a username thought of in the moment of creating it. eventually the charm of it wore off. do you like Sylvia?

oh it's no folly to me; i love it. i wish i had a username like yours. in fact i'd pay you to trade usernames. though i don't think you'd like mine that much at all. what would you change your username too though, if offered the chance to?

There were 3 /mu/tants at Glasser that night. That was nearly enough to put together some sort of impromptu NMH cover band.
