Chart Update 11/17/08

18 Nov 2008, 0:25

A few shake-ups on the artist chart. Taylor Swift's new album takes up the bulk of the top tracks chart. But the real action is smack dab in the middle of the charts.

Brad Paisley is the top played artist, with 16 total listeners. He is followed chronologically by Swift, George Strait, Sugarland, and Keith Urban. Now, moving down toward the ides of the chart, we find a new artist this week, The 9513. If you haven't yet, be sure to check out the podcasts with your host Kelly Dearmore. Episode Two - Diamonds And Beer is particularly great. Also making waves on the artist chart we find an eclectic group of artists ranging from country to mainstream rock to rap including Mindy McCready, Blaine Larsen, Aerosmith, T-Pain, Bonnie Raitt, John Prine, and Chalee Tennison. I still remember you, Chalee.

Over on the albums chart, Taylor Swift's Fearless is the top album, as has been the case with most new releases in recent weeks. CMA host Paisley's Time Well Wasted is second followed by the latest from Sugarland, Brad's co-host Carrie Underwood, and Jason Michael Carroll, who gets the distinction of being the 'head-scratcher' this week.

Swift's Love Story is tied for the number-one spot with Lee Ann Womack's Last Call while the rest of the top 10 is made up of tracks from the new Taylor Swift album. But the track list isn't all boring as some real gems are represented here, namely Diamond Rio's One More Day, Trace Adkins' You're Gonna Miss This, Mary Chapin Carpenter's The Hard Way, The Wilkinsons debut single 26 Cents and many, many more. But you'll have to go read the charts for yourself.
