Merry Christmas - and happy holidays / new year to all!

A friend sent me this greeting and I'd like to pass it along. I couldn't have said it better.
"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and a little bit of good craziness. I hope you read some great books (and listen to some good music) and hug the wonderful people in your life. And don't forget to make some art - write, or draw, or build, or sing. Live as only you can, and I hope somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself in the most amazing way...."
Thanks Nikki-- :)

( a beautiful video)

I hope you find whatever cultural celebrations you share to be a joyous respite from the crazy times we are enduring. We are in this thing together, whether we like it or not.
Music, humor, compassion, empathy, understanding and love for others brings us together. Namaste..........

Here's a big verbal hug from me to you- not much else I can do from here... :)

*_* Something is happening to my page section here- I am losing some of my pictures. I will get to it when I can to see if it can be repaired. It's always kinda under construction anyway... :)

Life is an evolving process and a beautifully challenging conundrum as we struggle to unwrap God's gift, claim it as our own, yet pass it on for others to enjoy and benefit from.

---like the yin/yang, give and take philosophy of life- two separate entities coming together where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Things get a little blurry sometimes......

I have a neighbor with leukemia and a cousin and his wife who both are fighting cancer at this time. And a cousin's husband with a brain tumor.
Please pray for C J, and Doak and Lydia, Suzanne and David and their families. Also Paddy, the son of a friend is struggling with heart problems. And now his partner Becky has serious health issues of her own. They have a small son who is loved and being kept by his grandmother (Sylvie) who is suffering through it all and hoping for a miracle.
And there are many others....too many...even me, but I am at peace with that.

Those of us who are relatively healthy are so blessed with every breath we take.
-- Never take that for granted.

We are all going to die, and not one of us knows the exact day or hour.
When or how we LIVE should be our focus.........
Sweet music from Norwegian composer and friend- Rune Trelvik - ( / or ... and a good perspective on life. There has to be more to life than just "survival of the most heavily fortified". There are always alternatives to war, and loving one's neighbor is the first step. I pray for us all, that we might focus on what brings us together - rather than what tears us apart. Namaste.

I also love this guy's work- all of it...

EMOTIONAL GROWTH: for peaceful co-existence...

--that's not always the first reaction, but it beats throwing wood on the fire,,,
--this presents a constant struggle for me, but I try to remember it when I feel rejected, neglected or abused

Everyone will hurt you sometimes, and you may even hurt them. Surround yourself with people who are worth it...

It is truly amazing what transgressions can be forgiven if the heart is pure enough...

entwined together to weather the inevitable storms of life...

....My take on women-- ya just borrow their hearts, one day at a time...............:)
This song captures beautifully the essence of my relationship with my wife of 36 years. The "perfect imperfections" make it all real (for us both) and it has been a ride unlike any I ever dreamed of. The depth of passion, the darkness of the pain- and the burning brilliance of the pure joy- all of it one precious drop at a time. After all this time I still have figured out only one thing -- I can't live without her, and I'm grateful for the chance to give and take - it all.... :D

HOWDY! Welcome to Texas.
Been here all my life, and I kinda like it, despite the - well, whatever...
We're different, but we're good people, mostly. We start early appreciating whatever God places in our path.
We love it, live with it, and make do till it gets better or we conquer the darn thing that is standing in our way.

- whatever that is.... :)

the sun is always shining- somewhere....

find one, by first BEING one....

“There is a light in this world, a healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometimes lose sight of this force when there is suffering, too much pain. Then suddenly, the spirit will emerge through the lives of ordinary people who hear a call and answer in extraordinary ways.”
― Mother Teresa

---one of the most profound things I ever read...

That being said, and I wholeheartedly agree, -- there is no reason to allow toxic people to roam freely within your heart or mind and to continue to cause pain. Forgiveness is a process that liberates the offended person from the pain. SOMEtimes you must separate yourself from the offender and move on. Learn and live free to open your heart to those who deserve your trust and their presence in your life.

... a great track from Mike Swale
-- he also has some incredible videos of fractals that are great to watch with his music - he's on YouTube as well.
I love this track- and many others by Ryan Farish. The fireflies represent the many people in our lives- even ourselves. --The good people (friends and family/loved ones) and even the bad ones, They come into and out of our lives and create a mosaic of thoughts and experiences. The good ones light up--the bad ones not so much. Look for the light when it gets dark. :)

Wait for the dawn that unfolds before us...did it chase away the darkness, or just reveal what was always there?
anytime..................................... :)!
--THIS WILL MAKE YOUR DAY, I promise! Pass it on... :D

Everything we do affects others in ways we might not have imagined.......

Please- live your life in such a manner that others are encouraged and uplifted from any communication or contact with you. That is not easy to do, but we must try. And it is always helpful to apologize when we inevitably fail...

Smile at the cashier at the grocery store, the man in the elevator, the lady who cut you off in traffic. Offer thanks to those who are of service to you. Make the effort to co-exist with those who persecute you or neglect you or speak or behave disrespectfully toward you.

Sometimes -fair or not- it will be up to you to find a way to smooth things over when conflicts inevitably arise.

And LOVE those who offer you their hearts- always. Your friends and family are such a blessing, even when it gets "messy" sometimes.

It is so easy to misunderstand.
We are all part of this great universe, this thriving mass of humanity. And we all are striving in our own separate ways to cope.

God bless us all and may his mercy bring us peace.

It is still a beautiful world... look around... life is GOOD!

Focus on finding the good stuff.

...always pondering something, and music sets me off....

...oh how the brain hungers for memories... they soothe us, and comfort us and remind us that we HAVE been blessed in so many ways... How will today be remembered? You might be surprised....:) Life IS a constant journey, one step at a time..
- loving this...... :)

There is no doubt a soundtrack to my life.
It began in the womb hearing my mother's heartbeat and who knows what else I could hear, or feel at that time.

-- the day of my "birth" into this world of lights and oxygen- a place far different from the wet cocoon I lived in for nine months.

-- the warmth of my mother's touch, the softness of her young breast--the kindness of her voice and the laughter I heard from my father

--my first steps-my first ride on a bicycle -elementary school-high school
-- hanging out with my friends John and Frank, college,

--falling in love with my wife Cindi--our wedding day (and night)
--the gasps of breath from our first son - handed to me with his umbilical cord still attached to his exhausted but happy mom, the blood of life still coursing through the cord as he turned pink right before my eyes
--our second son, still attached again, but this time I was ready for it
-- watching us all grow up, and even now listening to music as I go about my day.

I can't imagine a world without music.

It is in the air, the rustle of leaves, the song of birds, the chirping of a cricket.
Well, okay, the cricket can get old. But you know what I mean.

And when a musician picks up an instrument and blows in it, plucks it, bangs on it, or pulls a bow across it there is a sweet sound that bursts forth upon the world for the very first time.

It is music - the soundtrack of my life.

"The thing about music that gets me---- it is ageless if done right. I chuckle when I hear a song from my parent's generation and realize they had the same angst and concerns as we did- and my kids do - and their kids probably will. Life just stumbles on, despite electronic and subsonic and even nanotechnology. We are all and have always been - just humans - trying to figure things out on our own terms and coping with our own problems as best we can. But for some reason we think that we are the first - or even the ONLY- ones who ever had such dilemmas. NOPE> and if we would only just listen- we would learn from the whispers of generations past."

Lead, follow, or get the heck out of the way.....

WHATEVER HAPPENS--- accept it, learn what you can, and move on. It is a process, and isn't always simple by any means. But it is essential to meaningful growth, prosperity, and well-being. Many people just cannot forgive OR forget, and that erodes any likelihood of healing. Harboring hatred, grudges, bitterness or resentment is "like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die". We MUST find a way to overcome the adversity in our lives, because we ALL have it. Compassion is a sympathetic consciousness and understanding of other's distress and the desire to alleviate it. But we must also be compassionate with ourselves..... and take responsibility for our own future.

Life is GOOD, but sometimes people will hurt and disappoint you- the idea is to surround yourself with the people who are worth it....

Please leave me a shout or a message if you see something worthy of a comment. Your input helps to keep me sane. :)

I'll Be Your Water...
Please listen to this tribute to the little ones.
A beautiful tribute to the incredible truth that comes "out of the mouths of babes"...
Please listen- it will touch your heart- and your mind as well..

There is no explanation - no simple words to express the suffering of those who lost children and loved ones in the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School incident in Newtown, Connecticut. 28 human beings taken from this life - including the ONE man solely responsible, but we all feel the grief and confusion that stems from the questions that remain.

God bless us all and may his mercy bring us peace in these times of mayhem and confusion.

It is still a beautiful world.

“TO BE HOPEFUL in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness.

What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places—and there are so many—where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction.

And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.”
― Howard Zinn

A personal perspective...

Many people are hearing things about Asperger's Syndrome in the media and I want to address some things from a personal perspective. My son is an "aspie"- and we love him dearly and understand his challenges. It hurts to read or hear some of the erroneous information that is in the media.

I have two journal entries here at Lastfm referencing Asperger's Syndrome that I hope you will read.
How can we deal with anything other than the truth?
One thing for certain- I have to keep an eye on my son to protect HIM from other people who would take advantage of his generosity and kindness. He wouldn't hurt a flea, but has suffered at the thoughtless actions of others many times.

I don't know if all aspies are just like my son, but from what I have read, the professional assistance we have received, and the people I have met online -- I would say that most are.

Please try and understand the challenges people face and do not jump to the conclusion that they are somehow not worthy of trust. Society should assist, rather than confront or ridicule fellow human beings who are trying to cope as best as they can.

By simply Googling "Asperger's Syndrome" you can begin to acquire knowledge on this increasingly pervasive condition.

Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
-Melody Beattie-

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough- and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
-Melody Beattie-

To each of you and to God - I am grateful. Thank you for the experience!

How can good within us bring us together
when bad is so busy driving us apart?
We can learn much from each other
if we see with our mind,
listen with our heart
--and speak with both.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most.
We ask ourselves, "who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous ?"
Actually, who are you not to be ?

You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us ; it’s in all of us.

And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
—Nelson Mandela, 1994
(quoting Marianne Williamson from her book - A Return to Love- )

Never fear to hope!
Hope fuels the fire that is the passion within us.

If there is someone in your life who has disappointed you- someone who you believe hasn't lived up to your expectations- and that you have been a bit "less than supportive of" as a result - consider this:

It may just be that they have given up- at least temporarily- because they feel they have let you down.

Now they ARE down. Down so low that they can't get back up. It seems too hopeless - too far to reach for- again.

It's not all your fault. That's not what I am saying.

All I am saying is that people have a tendency to slide into the slots we create for them.

Each of us have gifts- unique gifts- things that come naturally to us, but we often don't see it.
We get caught up in trying to be who we think others want us to be.

And we set aside those natural gifts to pursue something that just may not be part of that grand plan God had for us. Or the one we had for ourselves...

Instead we go off looking to be- someone else. Some things are really NOT meant to be. We can't all be the cool, suave, confident. goal-driven, entrepreneurs in life.

Many of us struggle with conflicting hopes and dreams that seem out of reach for the simple people we are inside.

We let MANY things hold us back- and often it is the perception we feel others have of us- that we are just not that special.

Each of us IS special- if we just follow our dreams and don't look back. It may take a few- or many- attempts-- before we find that niche - that empty slot in the puzzle we have been looking at all our life. Is THAT where we belong? Give it a shot- see what happens. It is YOUR life. Live it!~

Given time, and support and encouragement from those we love and trust with our deepest, open and heart-felt feelings - we'll ALL get there. You, too. ME too. Us too.

Don't hold someone back. Don't hold YOURSELF back- if that is the problem.

Keep searching, keep trying, keep getting up one more time and trying each day to recognize the inherent gifts you have been given- and learn to LIVE -- and love yourself.

You are a child of the universe. You have a right to be here.

Now go- find nirvana, that right job, that special mate, that passion you have within you.

I, for one, am rooting for you!
keep it simple if you can....

some of the stuff you are about to read here might kinda sneak up on ya- so keep an open mind, willya?
In case you might be wondering...

I have a VERY lengthy "About Me" section here at Lastfm for one very specific reason. I do indeed enjoy meeting, sharing music and ideas, and getting to know people all over the world. I have had numerous occasions where a friend- or even just a casual acquaintance- has expressed to me that they are hanging by a thread, terribly unhappy, or simply overwhelmed by their own personal journey in life.

I have been there myself, believe me. Life is indeed a personal journey that we must take. But despite what we might think, we are never alone. It just sometimes FEELS that way.

The music here at Lastfm often soothes and comforts a troubled spirit and helps them get through another dreadful day. That's a good thing! There is a song for everyone in here- somewhere! It is amazing how music can lift you up even when nothing else seems to work...

Many people are searching here at Lastfm -- reaching out and hoping to find SOME shred of hope that things can or will get better.

Some have simply LOST hope, in that they just cannot find joy in anything they see or are experiencing currently in their lives. They are losing the will to live- to continue to battle whatever foes comes against their happiness and peace of mind.

This is a great video- good music and a sentiment of thought that should be carried forward--
-----it will make your day!!

Many people are facing very REAL and difficult situations. Unemployment -- financial challenges that seem beyond their reach to resolve -- personal relationships that are dissolving or have turned bitter and seemingly hopeless -- death of a loved one or separation from family and friends -- addictions that they cannot seem to control -- health issues that limit their ability to function at the level they would choose -- frustration over economic and political unrest and the lack of freedom in their own countries where they live -- family obligations and personal demands that are simply overwhelming --- even spiritual issues that are unresolved and that continue to haunt them and disrupt their peace of mind --- the list goes on and on...

"Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness" and imaginings-- the fear that they are somehow "not good enough" to deserve the joy they see others experiencing. The past - even more than the future--- somehow tears at their heart and their mind and will not allow them to move forward in life. Some dark little voice whispers to them "why bother?"

How sad and unfortunate for them - and for those who are missing the fellowship, the companionship, the joyful and meaningful relationships that they would otherwise offer. They cannot seem to ENGAGE in the things that are lacking in their life.

In the process of developing my OWN search to find something that will inspire, motivate, or encourage me to continue to persevere, I have stumbled across a TON of helpful and insightful people- and their own creations-- words, music, art, pictures, ideas, and compassion far beyond my own abilities or even my dreams.

And I am determined to share whatever makes me laugh, gives me hope, inspires ME to create - with whoever has for SOME reason stumbled across MY page here at Lastfm.

Maybe it will help someone. Maybe it will help YOU. Maybe it just helps ME to feel that I have attempted to make a difference. Whatever God leads me to do, I will travel there with open eyes - watching and listening so that I might share it with you.

Enough said-- dig in! I hope you find something that was meant especially for YOU- today- and always.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
~Leo Buscaglia
(thanks Nicole)

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6:45

"Hurt me with the truth. But don't confuse me with lies." --such nourishment deepens our roots for the hard times...

One observation from 'ol JTMc--
.. in America we are very proud of our "freedom of speech". Should we not also be concerned about our freedom to think- first? Sheesh!

Ignorance is NOT bliss. But it is rampant- all over the world.
Short-sighted, knee-jerk reactions to critical issues and events rarely move any of us forward through the myriad of obstacles to peaceful co-existence in a free society.
Freedom of speech is an essential element in the pursuit of understanding and overcoming what hinders our progress.
But it is critically important also that those who are privileged to have that freedom use it wisely and judiciously.

We have a responsibility to think BEFORE we engage our fellow citizens in world changing hostilities, however unjustified they may be.

Whoever got the idea that you could say anything-anytime-to anyone-about anything--and not have consequences?
Blows my mind.....:(
I don't believe our forefathers intended to give excuse to idiots with ignorance and hatred and hostility at the forefront of their words.

... bitterness is death - from the inside out

this picture is from the Vietnam war era--

It was a time when the youths and many people of the day wanted PEACE.
---not demanded war or vengeance---
all we were saying........
is give peace a chance

and we were heard- because of our non-violent protests, our willingness to face down adversity with a smile, not a gun or a bomb or a wave of violence against innocent bystanders caught up in the mayhem.

It worked, ever-so-slowly for the peaceful civil rights demonstrations as well.

Yes- there were some violent actions taken here and there that actually caused setbacks in what we were aiming for-- understanding-- compassion---logic and rational thinking about a concept whose time had come- or was long overdue.

Violence just breeds contempt and anger, and more contempt and anger.
Rarely does it change behavior or thinking patterns of those who are in defiance of the "changes" that must occur in our society.

We are all here, bumping up against each other- like it or not.

We have differing needs that sometimes appear to be in conflict with the needs or the rights of others.
---It has been that way since the caveman fought over the best and safest and warmest cave for him and his family......

Drop back and think about what you do and/or say that adds to the peace and prosperity of us all---- not just yourself.

And we all begin to lead safer, healthier, more peaceful lives.

a source I do not fully agree with by any means, nor have I even researched it fully. But I do like this particular quote and thought it appropriate to include it here.
"In the mind’s eye conjure up a picture of one of your primitive ancestors of cave-dwelling times — a short, misshapen, filthy, snarling hulk of a man standing, legs spread, club upraised, breathing hate and animosity as he looks fiercely just ahead. Such a picture hardly depicts the divine dignity of man.

,,,But allow us to enlarge the picture. In front of this animated human crouches a saber-toothed tiger. Behind him, a woman and two children. Immediately you recognize that such a picture stands for the beginnings of much that is fine and noble in the human race, but the man is the same in both pictures. Only, in the second sketch you are favored with a widened horizon.

...You therein discern the motivation of this evolving mortal. His attitude becomes praiseworthy because you understand him. If you could only fathom the motives of your associates, how much better you would understand them.

...If you could only know your fellows, you would eventually fall in love with them."

********************************************************************************* for the rage taking place all over the middle east (and now the whole world) since Tuesday- 9 11 2012, partly in response to a very poorly crafted film which attempts to rile Muslims ( it did) , I found a well written article by AP with this wise quote:

"Yes, we understand the First Amendment and all of this stuff," wrote Khalid Amayreh, a prominent Islamist commentator and blogger in Hebron on the West Bank. "But you must also understand that the Prophet (for us) is a million times more sacred than the American Constitution."
He adds: "As Americans have their own idiots and fanatics, we, too, have our idiots and fanatics. And as Americans are utterly unable — probably unwilling as well — to stop their idiots, we, too, are less able to rein in ours."

and the beat goes on......

"When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?" ...Eleanor Roosevelt

There is much more to this tragedy than at first it seems.

Many things are worth living for.
Some things are worth dying for.
VERY FEW things are worth killing for.

Innocent lives are to be protected, not sacrificed.

EACH life is precious.
Not a token for the gambler.
Not prey for the hunter.
Not collateral for the cause.

Like the tiniest mustard seed- it has a purpose.

...EACH life had a purpose

A beautiful memorial has been erected to remind future generations of this sorrowful event.
Other countries, too, have erected memorials in respect for those 3000 innocent lives- and for the people of the United States who had offered them hope, a home, and a dignified way of life.

The horrific events of 911
were inexcusable from every decent human perspective.

We cannot imagine how anyone could hate so vehemently
that they would justify such a horrific and perverse action.

So many lives-- innocent people callously ripped from their loving families.

We spent eleven years and $3 trillion to find those who killed 3000 innocent people that dreadful September day --and to protect the rest of us as best we could.

Each life has been mourned respectfully - as it should be.
There will always remain a void that cannot be filled.

And I got to thinking of those 3000 lives- and their families- and the things that they would NOT be able to share with the rest of the world. They deserved to live.

3000 lives out of many billions on this earth -- but each one a gift from our creator with unique capabilities and contributions.

Each life with its own purpose- now unfulfilled.

Or was it unfulfilled?

What might we learn from this travesty,
this tragedy, this desolate hole in the ground that remains-
as symbolic as it might be-
a symbol of the lives that could have been..........
so much more.

...and I had another of my AHA! moments that just slapped me between the eyes....... the tiniest mustard seed
--each life has a purpose... the tiniest mustard seed
--each LIFE has a purpose... the tiniest mustard seed
--EACH life has a purpose...

And I am compelled to ask: When will we also stand against the killing of millions of these little "seeds" - the living heartbeats, the children of the womb?
Is there a memorial somewhere I don't know about?
Did their names get read - one at a time?
Have we tracked down those responsible?
Do we even care?

If not--- why not?
Was it the buildings and material damage that made the difference?

...3000 innocent people
....millions of innocent living children
both inexcusable, in my book.

Each "911" life has been mourned respectfully - as it should be.

But what about the MILLIONS of
innocent unborn children
who cry out
who never had the chance to thrive and prosper?

How can we as a nation ignore this tragedy or give refuge under law to those who encourage or enable it, except when the mother herself is in grave physical danger, or was an unwilling or underage participant in the conception of the child?

For the LIFE of me --- I can't see it.....
I mourn for us all.

WHICH lives are worth fighting for?
Are we all not someone's child?

Namaste-- I bow in peace to you and your culture out of respect, and acknowledge your right to prosper and also live in peace as you wish. I would bring you no harm, except in self-defense.

You may have a different perspective of God- that's between you and yours. I will respect your decision and trust that you will do the same for me -and mine. I suspect that whether or not it is clear to us both- they may be the same. We ARE all someone's child.

I believe America and its people have demonstrated that we will NEVER bow or submit to tyranny or terrorism - at any cost.
May God bless America!

.... and may God have mercy on the souls of those taken -and those survivors and loved ones who mourn their loss- when someone kills the wrong people for the wrong reasons.....

On a more positive note, with bright hope and anticipation...

Some people just won't give up - and it inspires us all to forge ahead when things get a bit rough.

I know there is something more for us all, if we will just focus on the possibilities and not the problems. --go get 'em Nick!

--- life is still good!

Parenting is the best and hardest thing I ever tackled.
The most rewarding, and the most frustrating...

It's a phenomenal responsibility that never, ever lets up.
Especially when these little guys are around- I know, I had two.
here is another one- cracks me up---

...and one for the Moms! (thanks Emmdragon)

Stay after them- they need it.

I was out of town recently for a few weeks visiting my parents in a little west Texas town. My folks are 85 years old- married 66 years- and still hold hands. Sweetest testament to love and perseverance...
ahhhh, for the good 'ol days when life seemed simpler....:)

“Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”
Robert Heinlein
"I am only a child, yet I know :
...we are all part of a family - 5 billion strong, in fact 30 million species strong- and borders and governments will never change that...

I am only a child, yet I know ...
... we are all in this together and should act as one single world towards one single goal...

I am only a child, yet I know...
... really, you are mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles-
... and all of you are someone's child..............."

I could only hope that the delegates and members of both the Democratic and Republican parties of the U.S. -- and ALL people everywhere -- would listen intently to this message. It speaks to our collective hearts in a most poignant way.

Namaste. Pray for peace. Embrace the possibility. Consider the reality of our actions and turn toward peace everlasting.

I know, I know, I know... there are those who would seek to do us great harm. But how can there ever be peace when the focus is on killing those who oppose us? We ARE us...5 billion strong.

Politics drives me nuts! I used to write speeches for a state Senator, and as his aide it was one of my jobs to keep him on track and honest with his comments. I was also a Press Secretary for a Congressional candidate. Real eye-opener there, I can tell ya....

I know how things often get distorted by the media, but also how often things get INTENTIONALLY distorted by the candidates themselves.
Media bias is more rampant and blatant than I have ever seen it.
Politicians will do whatever it takes to win because their supporters demand it- too much at stake if they lose.

Just be careful before you accept what you hear or read - issues are complicated and compromise is essential to get anything done.

"Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason." - Mark Twain

However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.

GEORGE WASHINGTON, Farewell Address, Sept. 17, 1796
it's the buzz inside my head...:)
listen to this

and then watch this:

these things have profound impact on my thinking.....

lots to think about, but I'm still grinning...

Howdy from where you step---the b.s. can get fierce around here...:)

For me - sarcasm is cultivated and understood to be part of a way of life that can be enjoyed by others, assuming they are intelligent and have a good sense of humor.... (I need a special font for that)
If there is any confusion on your part when reading some of my comments (they are all over the place here at feel free to ask me what I mean. I realize that many people are struggling with English language nuances, and I do not want to add to your frustration or give you the wrong impression.

Sometimes I am just having fun and exchanging chuckles with friends. But most of the time I am being contemplative and sharing my thoughts on a particular subject or music that I find interesting.

I hope you share my passion for life- with all its nuances- good and bad- all over the world- and agree that we all have much more in common than we have separating us.

My life- your life- everyone's life--- is filled with challenges that perplex us and erode our peace and happiness. But those "simple complexities" as I call them also color, shape and add flavor to our unique experiences. Only by sharing and discovering that we are all in this together do we begin to move forward as one people -- humans existing on this home we call EARTH.

Most of all- I hope to contribute to the peace, prosperity, and happiness we all deserve.
- Namaste-.
I respect your right to live in peace as you wish.

Now- so much for the disclaimer- on with the show!

music from a good friend of mine and a artist- ----fire in the hole!!!!

Question: Why is it that it is SOOOOOO easy to kick someone while they are down? Have YOU ever been down?

The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing, and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.
Henri Nouwen, Out of Solitude

REliving the past.

Lost opportunities
-- we certainly lost SOMEthing...

We were moving along in life
then things changed...
suddenly the room got cold
and the lights went out
and we were left alone
with our thoughts.

How did that happen?
Why did that happen?

There are always things we wish
we (could/should/would have)
done or said - differently.

However we may have justified it at the time,
in the midst of the conflicts
and confusion, fear, or doubts--
it was our choice, then.
And it is our choice NOW.

We felt we had reasons for responding the way we did.
Maybe we did everything we reasonably could...
Why wasn't it enough?.....

...If we had just known how we would feel later,
looking back..........

Often when a loved one dies,
or there is a break in a relationship,
- any unexpected and tragic "loss" -
it is THAT that we often mourn.

The doubts come rolling in...
No more second chances,
no more opportunities to "fix" things,
no more words or actions or deeds,
no way to make a difference
--not anymore....

The separation is painful,
but the lingering thoughts are woeful.

What might we have said if we had known what was to come?
What might we have done?
Was our contribution sufficient?

- Questions erode our peace of mind-

We were wronged! (no doubt..)
We didn't deserve this.
But did we accept and forgive - graciously
or resentfully?

Maybe we need to forgive ourselves!
Or maybe not.

Did our reactions hinder or help the situation?
How did it come to this...?

---Precious moments lost
only to return time and time again
in the manner of regrets...remorse...angst...apprehension...

Do we even deserve love-happiness-peace-tranquility-contentment-joy- ?
Can we ever trust anyone
and offer
-or even accept-
unconditional loyalty or love again?

The time for those relationships has expired;
and we are left with fleeting glimpses of
what should have been,
could have been, surely
what would have been...
...If we had just known how we would feel later looking back...

BUT. ..

There WILL be new opportunities, new relationships ---

It is up to us to utilize those past experiences
-good or bad-
to foster success in how we handle conflict or adversity in the future.

Consider this very carefully:
Do we assume there will be another day
to "set things straight"?

You just never know.
You just never know.

Are there existing relationships that need to be shored up even now -- adrift in a sea of trivial exchanges?

Focus on looking for those opportunities,
and recognize that YOU are overall a good person,
abundantly filled with compassion
-just waiting to make a difference in the lives of others
and find joy for yourself, too.

Well---- why wait any longer?

You have a right to be here.
And be happy.

But others do, too.

Be careful what (and who) you disregard.
Everything that happens in our life
is a critical part of who we are - becoming.

You are a human, being.

Get up off of your ass and start living-

It is time.
You have been dying since the day you were born.

The hole in your heart caused by your own personal tragedies
has no doubt molded you into becoming
the kind and caring person you are.
(or cold, withdrawn, and bitter-- your choice)

You DID learn!!!
But WHAT did you learn?

There is ALWAYS a reason for everything.
Whether or not you accept that as fact,
does indeed
make ALL the difference.

It is a slow and painstaking process
that affords us those opportunities.

It is called LIFE.

..."Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right.

This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences.

When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world

"No, YOU move.".....

I believe that each of us has a special gift, uniquely our own-
and that it is our mission in life to recognize it
and discover how to share it
in a way that benefits humanity and brings glory to our creator.

If we receive financial gain in the process, that is great.
If not, that's fine, too.

There are many ways to make money.
Ahhh... but to make a LIVING!....
That is sometimes a conundrum.

Passion and rare talent
should not be ignored,
or simply sold.

Life is a journey that begins alone,
but every step is enhanced
by sharing what we have
and what we have learned
- together.

Live passionately doing what you love.
Give compassionately sharing what you have received.
Come together.

There is a shared responsibility for the mess we are in.
We are either part of the solution, or we are part of the problem.

One part of the world is waking to a brand new day.
Another part is drifting off to sleep.

Somewhere one of us died.
But another has been born.

The sun is always shining
if it resides within your heart.

(sounds simple enough, doesn't it?

Namaste: I respect the right of the people of your culture to live in peace as you wish.

In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. (Martin Luther King)

I get blasted with negative crap every time I pick up the newspaper or turn on the TV - with little discussion on how to make it better. The media SELLS doom and gloom, sorrow and pain- one drop at a time. BUT- in addition to all that horrible stuff, THERE IS ALSO BEAUTY, if you would just recognize it- and that we all CAN make a difference- if we just TRY.

Sympathy and empathy and compassion are good and positive and favorable attributes.

I LOVE THIS GUY! (Anthony Mazzella) Incredible guitarist.

goosebumps! -

catch him all over YouTube or here-- --heavenly indeed!

Thanks Mountainbear- you made my day!

Pray for peace. Pray for rain. Pray for whatever ail's ya!

I put all this stuff on here - one at a time over the past couple of years. It is easy for me to get to and OFTEN I refer to it.
I copy and paste parts of it when talking with someone around the world who has shared something personal with me and is hoping for an answer from me that will help them.

I enjoy what I do and believe it is relevant to the issues of the day. I try to be real rather than politically correct. It isn't always easy to do that.

I have very strong opinions about some things and would hope that others come to the same (heartfelt) conclusion.

But I am also aware that if I am overly assertive I would only drive them off-- and that they DO have the very precious blessing of CHOICE. I honor that in every way I can.

--- and I still say- be careful where you step.....

and now (if you're still with me) the rest of the story..... How beautiful! Watch the video, too...
Even the name-- "Forests of my mind" -- Childhood Memories
Enjoy all his work!

heck- you're never too old to play air guitar, are you?

don't just stand there- say something... incredible...... watch the video, too! Inspiratiional-- now be happy with what YOU have...:)

I hope that clears everything up nicely...:)

Are you looking for some piano music that will resonate in your mind?
Try this :
and this :
this is new music from a young man in Norway...

This too: or or or

and of course:

...have you ever tried to forget something that just won't go away- especially GOOD memories, but of a time long gone or a person that things just didn't work out with? Must have been too many endorphins released on that one... the brain just stays hungry for the memories...

Music always triggers that response in me.

Here is an artist's perception of that process....

Whatever YOUR trigger is, happy listening!

This always knocks me back to the good 'ol days... .. I'm liking this guy's music a LOT right now.. --Mostly mellow solo instrumental guitar with an edge. (electric)
but this one kicks butt!-- same here...:) ...and this guy is fantastic on instrumental acoustic guitar!

But there are very few masters of the acoustic guitar like -- Period.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

How are ya'll doing? Welcome to Texas!

Texas is like any place else- but we especially love and appreciate people with the confidence and courage to stand up for what they believe. We may disagree- but we honor people's right to express their OWN opinion. Makes for an interesting hotbed of ideas. :)
And yes- there are a lot of rednecks, too!"

Here is my own personal opinion on tolerance:

Tolerance does not necessarily imply approval.
But to encourage, support, and recommend something that you are opposed to is nothing more than shallow hypocrisy, and demonstrates a lack of integrity.

Frankly, I don't like being around people who are thoroughly convinced that they have all the answers -- that theirs is the only way, and that everyone else is an idiot.
I sure hope I don't give that impression of myself. That would greatly sadden me.

I make my decisions based on a number of things that are important to me. It defines who I am and what I am willing to stand for (defend).

There is comfort in the approval of others.
I am encouraged when I receive it.
But I realize that we could BOTH still be wrong.

I make mistakes, lots of them - (gasp!)
--and even change my mind occasionally.

PLEASE have the courage, the compassion, and the patience to correct me if you believe that I am wrong.
Speak up people! Or at least engage in issues that are important to you.
I will NOT back down easily if I believe I am right. Neither should you.

I will listen to you.
I will do my best to understand why you feel the way you do, even if I disagree..

I am not close-minded except on a very few personal issues.
I will try not to infer that my opinions are a judgement of you if you have chosen differently.
I truly believe in free will to choose our own paths in life.

I am set on my course.
I hope you have found yours.

That's a lot of I's -- but this is my opinion and mine alone. I am speaking for no one else.

I will never intentionally harm you, or libel you or destroy your peace and privacy.
Neither will I condone or approve of every desire you have.

I believe that any "rights" should never trample the peace, property, privacy, or lifestyles of others, provided that they are playing by the same rules... No person has a right to "own" another. Period.

I accept that there may be disagreement as to what rights we are all afforded.
I will protect my beliefs, my rights, and those of the innocent or defenseless anyway I can.
I will try not to flaunt my rights if it offends you to see them in action,
...but neither will I set them aside.

You have the same opportunity as I do to express yourself and your beliefs.
At least in America.
For now.
-- Until they are ALL trampled because of a few nay-sayers who demand that everyone STOP worshiping however they wish and praying and honoring their traditions --- and just "play ball". How sad.

It is foolish to demand tolerance.

It comes naturally with earned respect.
You earn it by showing tolerance for the very people you believe to be intolerant.
You can't keep pushing people's "HOT Button" and expect them to submit or cower in fear, or allow their opinions to be suppressed.

I works both ways... Sooner or later the oppressed will rise up, as they should.

But I sincerely believe we can still co-exist in a peaceful manner.

why can't we all just get along...?

I suggest that we not seek or demand approval without first seeking understanding.
Mutual understanding will lead to tolerance (at least eventually) and a measure of acceptable harmony. .

The fact that I disagree does not mean that I don't respect you.
I may think you are a dimwit, but hey----you are entitled to be wrong- just like the rest of us. heehee

I respect your right to be who you are and to live you own life.

We have two ears and one mouth for a reason.

It's OUR world, - all of us in here together - and we have MUCH in common.

Let's try and focus on that...............

I guess I could have shortened that a bit by just skipping down to that one sentence.and picture... Whodathunkit?

Now you know why I stuck it up there.... I do learn. hmmm... Wanna hug?

Now, that having been said, I might warn you--- there is a reason for the saying "Don't mess with Texas!"
We are fiercely independent, stubborn, and have at least two opinions on everything. (one for our mama, and one for the rest of the world) We don't just run from rattlesnakes-- we eat 'em!

Texas has room for everybody- come on over- you'll get used to it....takes a while for some to assimilate though...

sooner or later- we all adapt..

hmmmmm... now where was I?

Oh yeah! WELCOME!

If I'm too busy to come to the door, just make yourself at home.
Isn't it amazing how a sunrise looks exactly like a sunset?
It depends on how you look at it- and where you are coming from...

...Coming down
always hurts
so much more
than the trip to the top.

Giving it up
just seems so WRONG
when just yesterday
we had it so GOOD.

There was
time to play,
time to smell the roses,
time to love and be loved,
time to waste- if that's what we wanted...

Now it seems
as if
there is NO time
to live ---
just LIVE
the way we wanted to...

But there is ALWAYS time.

It is just that
TIME is the one thing we cannot control.
It just marches on
unfettered by whatever we might prefer.

Looking back-
taking today for granted-
and expecting tomorrow
to be even better than today
is just wasted hope.

Instead of looking back----
pray, and
hope for love
hope for faith
hope for strength and courage
hope for the ability to ENDURE

Never fear to hope!
It is the passion that builds the fire within us.

Time will tell a story
about what was done with today--
Was it wasted
on the frustrations and fear
that we might LOSE something we hold
near and dear to our hearts?

All you CAN lose is today.

Yesterday is gone.
There is no guarantee of tomorrow- period.

But today-- ahhhhh ------ savor today.
It is a gift.
That's why we call it the present.

Open it carefully,
enjoy whatever it offers
lingering not for a moment to
suffer in regret
or angst
or fear.

Look around you.
Do you have loved ones to share this day with?
Is there food for the day?
Is someone sharing their abundance with you?
What did you do with the abundance YOU had?

Do you feel the warmth of the sun?
Did you do anything to make certain it would rise?
If it is not there, can you anticipate its return?

Care not for what is gone.
Find joy only in what you have.
However little there may be--
you know, at least for this one day---
it is enough.

It was given
earned, cultivated, harvested
with the joy of your heart and soul-
manna from Heaven-
put there for your use, your enjoyment.

Some say it is tasteless and bitter and
boring- how thankless we are!

Seize THIS day!
Use your muscles,
your mind
your talents
and your heart
to enjoy what is
laying there before you.

And it just may be-
the sun will rise again
unfolding a new day-
for us ALL to enjoy.

You know
without a doubt
that there are others who would
to be where you are-
to have what you have.

Love hurts sometimes.

Time hurts sometimes.

or perish
with hate and anger in your heart.

There is not,
nor ever will there be
a greater time than NOW.

Only time will tell...............

There is some scary stuff happening out there - all over the world! People are hurting- and they are destroying the very foundations that they are standing on. They have had enough! Pray for peace, not just prosperity. Pray that you will have enough to GIVE to others less fortunate--- not that you will GET everything that somebody, somewhere has that you don't have.

And DO pray for those who have been oppressed for generations. Pray that the cost of these world- changing events will not be so high that it will overshadow the peace that is surely to come- someday.

I don't always agree with the protesters, but I am proud that people have enough passion to stand up for what they believe.

In many countries, protesters may face death from tyrannical regimes for gathering to express their displeasure and demand rights. In America we may be hassled, jailed, even kicked around, but it is never acceptable for deadly force to be used. Never. Peaceful assembly is one of the freedoms of a democracy , as is freedom of speech.

We, in America, also had to fight to sever the chains that bound us. But we have it so much better than many- who have nothing. please......

Never forget where we came from. Or who we are. Or even who we can be.
WE are nothing more than US-- all of us...
Namaste. May peace be with you. It is within your grasp- always.
Thank you Mountainbear for finding THIS for me!
This video- and the attitude of gratitude that is so poignantly expressed - seems to have somehow been channeled through my heart. Please take a few moments to watch and ponder its peaceful intensity.
I couldn't have said it better...

if you find something you love, never give it up...

ahhhh- you don't see much of this in Texas.... maybe it's because it is New Hampshire!
That's Lizzy and Sisterbear heading off on a morning trek.

"I told you to get your butt in the barn, dangit! What did you wake me up for?"

yep-- that one IS Texas- through and through.
-- A REAL cowboy shows no fear and never backs down in the face of adversity...:)
Just grab your hat, put on your boots, and take on the world!
-pants are usually recommended, too----:)

that makes me think of something--
It is when we allow ourselves to become vulnerable
that we become real, connected, and useful to society.
Let the journey begin!
JT ... Excellent to read something to-- like what is below....:)

some of the stuff you read here might kinda sneak up on ya- so keep an open mind, willya?

People come into your life for a reason...this video expresses that sentiment beautifully.

"Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness....Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.... Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass." - from desiderata (quoted in its entirety elsewhere)

* Love as if you've never been hurt -- and dance like no one is watching.!
Please watch this video - and take the message to heart.

If you will do this- and pass this video- and a simple act of kindness- on to someone else -- it will have a ripple effect far beyond our own small existence when taken to its exponential extreme. Viral kindness...:)

I sense a sadness... so oppressive.

Despite the many joys that unfold before us
some prevail with attitudes of despair and pain,
recognizing only the negative things that surround us all.

Granted- there is much pain and suffering out there.
Too much, indeed.

I see it, I hear it, I feel it.
There is no denying its existence.
Nor would I try to do so.

Since the beginning of time man has suffered
the indignities of occurrences
far beyond his control.

Catastrophic events rip the foundation of trust
and destroy our peace of mind.

As much as it hurts
- that is how it should be.

That angst comes from within us.
The recognition that we are NOT in control.

Of events.

Oh, we try!
How we do TRY!

But we DO control our perception
and our reaction to what occurs.

Education and scientific exploration.
Deliberate dissection of every piece of information ever gathered.
Compilation of theories and expert opinions
- often assumed to be fact,
until proven otherwise...

The Tower of Babel
was thought
to be man's greatest effort
to achieve parity with the stars
and uncover the truth that lay beyond.

Years of painstaking work
by so many brilliant theorists
and thousands of dedicated workers
suffering under the lash, no doubt.

Unified and deliberate
---and such progress!

-----Destroyed in an instant.
Man could no longer communicate!

A calamity of such enormous magnitude.
Such a waste of human effort.
A humbling experience.

- sometimes it tastes so bitter.

Our best efforts produce
and more information.

But how might it be interpreted?
How might it be put to use?

There is always the anomaly
- the unexplained bit of information
that just will not fit into our best theories.

So we just toss it aside
and move on
as if we had enough detail
to finish the puzzle
that lies before us.

is one of those things
that cannot be boxed
into a clear definition of reality.

Why do we anticipate
- expect
- cower in fear
-- from the unknown?

Must we assume the worst?
Is it wise to always prepare for the worst
as if it were guaranteed to occur?

If so
- what have we gained?

The fear lingers,
but it is masked
by a false sense of protection.

It is the faith
the understanding
that there is much beyond us
that sustains me.

Promises were spoken long ago
that explain the futility
of war
and greed
and avarice
and deceit
--even the storing of things
in anticipation of what is surely to come.

Because what IS surely to come
in THIS life
will be more of the same
--the dog chasing its tail
- what happens when he catches it?

Only in the end will it be fully revealed.

There is a peace beyond this world
and it is to be shared...

by all
who recognize
and submit to GOD
in humility

--and embrace the promise
as the only true reality.

I will not expedite the end.
Nor cower in fear.
Nor prepare the deep shelters.

It will come like a thief in the night.

The only preparation
that WILL offer peace
is that of the soul.

I will embrace the destiny of life
as it unfolds
and enjoy what is to be enjoyed.

Lingering but for the moment
to give thanks
and recognize the blessings.

not just to receive.

There is enough.
For the while...

Seize THIS day
and live it as if
what YOU do makes a difference.

It does.

ok- so it isn't always as good as you wish it would be- that shouldn't stop you from trying.
Thanks folks- you truly give new meaning to my life.

Music is why I came here- I found a whole lot more....;)
--looks like some folks found me, too!

"what we have here is a failure to communicate..."

...and just why IS that?

Here is what I think,,,
You cannot avoid conflict or disharmony.
You can try-- sure--, but it is inevitable that people disagree occasionally.

You must seek to find common ground and a reason to continue the relationship or the discussion.
Compromise might be necessary.
Arguing is simply a passionate expression of one side of the issue.
Listen more than you talk- and hope the other person does that, too!

... Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. (Desiderata) ...they still may be dull and ignorant though....:)

...Some of the most profound words of wisdom I have ever found:
desiderata - by max ehrmann
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Max Ehrmann c.1920

it doesn't get any better than this!

..."just think of women as either black holes, dark energy or dark matter. They can suck you in, pull you apart, reduce you to the smallest element and spin you in circles at near the speed of light. And like gravity, their pull is irresistible to the average male mass."
---comment given to Stephen Hawking (the former Lucasian professor of mathematics at Cambridge University) when he admitted in a Yahoo article that he spent most of the day thinking about women. "They are," he said "a complete mystery."

Heck-- I've been researching the same one for 34 years and I am still stumped! Happy Anniversary honey!

here is her take on the whole "love" thing...
wimmen---- ya gotta love 'em!

Which do YOU want to be? Happiness is a state of mind- not an observation of circumstances.

-- WAG THAT TAIL! -------- from "It's A Wonderful Life"

well- maybe a little humility would help- ya think?

---STOP FOR A MOMENT-- to watch this video, please. Life is too dang short- enjoy it while you can!
I think we have discovered the side effects of Willie Nelson's biodiesel in mass transit....:)

..nothing like a few nights in the hospital ICU to make you appreciate the simple things in life! Thanks, God! You did it again!!!

A clot-buster called tPA and a few well-timed miracles turned me around from "no-way Jose" to "feisty old fart" in about 3 hours - plus a week or so to prove that I was really me again. Scary stuff- but never give up- there's a bit of life left in all of us. Enjoy what ya got!

But I'm back from the Twilight Zone and pretty much resurrected-- LIFE is GOOD!

"You hold the greatest power of all: the ability to design your own life. It's what you decide to do each morning and how you feel at the end of the day. Its choosing to ignore limitations and being open to life's possibilities. All of them. It's your mind, body and spirit - your journey. Ready to exercise your options?"

Each and every person and thing on this planet and beyond is but a small piece of the puzzle that makes up the life that we live. Our families, our friends, even our enemies affect us in many ways and direct us down the paths that we CHOOSE to take. But we do have many choices, and combined they create our individuality. If you can imagine looking down on the world and seeing the missing pieces and pondering when and who will fill those pieces... that must be how our creator sees us. Get the big picture, and fill in the missing pieces very carefully. Some fit, some don't. Don't force it. You have all the time in the world. But DO be careful what shape YOUR piece takes and how it affects others. Together, it is a beautiful picture, if we make it so...

We are as good as the best of us.
We are as bad as the worst.

We are as free as the wind
earthbound as a tree
-as deep as the ocean
yet shallow as a grave.

As sad as goodbye
as warm as hello
-a hug from a loved one
or the stab of betrayal

The salt of the earth,
and yet we destroy all that we consume.
Some plant the seed
but who will cultivate the seedling?

Tomorrow requires an expectation
of a breath of fresh air
and the acceptance of miracles
that envelop our world

We are life.

This is a message to all of you, one at a time, I think --from Yanni (and me, too): ....And another thing before I go. I just want to say I love you. We all do. And we recognize the hard times, the struggle you have had at times. But we also know that you are trying!! And we think you are a good person, one who cares about people. You ARE noticed. You DO make a difference, every day, in the lives of people you touch in your very special way.. THANK YOU SO MUCH for being who you are. Today, tomorrow, and always...

Watch for the signs-- they're out there...
You are not alone, you know....:)

an Italian friend (Gianfrancociuff) of mine sent me this:
tributo a Steve Jobs di John Rhyman

"Here's to the crazy ones.
The Misfits, The Rebels and the Troublemakers
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently
They're not fond of rules,
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them
Disbelieve, Glorify or Vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things,
They imagine, invent and dream.
They explore, create and inspire,
They push the Human race forward
Maybe they have to be crazy...
Because the ones that are crazy enough
to think they can change the World
are the ones that do. "

-Steve Jobs-
-brilliantly perceptive-

"Almost everything--all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure--these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

- Steve Jobs-

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

- Steve Jobs-

"No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet, death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it, and that is how it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It's life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new."

- Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011- a man who saw it coming, and didn't blink

I'll be's sunrise in Texas!

Texas is a bit different, but we're good people!

Ya'll come see us~!

Just remember- if you don't agree with me about something, it's your own dang fault! --heehee--

There is a WHOLE lot of "food for thought" in the rather lengthy collection of thoughts and ideas below. Some are my own that came out of my head- and many are collected from wherever I find them. If I know who the author is I will always credit them. I thank the many friends and fellow souls who have exposed me to new ideas- and helped me to decipher the old ones as well.

Most of us have been around the block, kicked to the curb, picked up and brushed off and started over again many times in life. I love sharing ideas- but most of all I love sharing inspiration and encouragement. It's not always easy to get back up when you have been knocked down- but you simply have to find a way to do just that-- get back up one more time.

I hope something in here will help you in times of sorrow or confusion--- and that a lot will simply give you a reason to smile.

Enjoy! And keep sharing- please....JT

I try to be the voice of reason, but it doesn't always work.
It's not always appreciated, either....
What the heck.... you gotta try, right?

Stand and wait.

Vigilance, for the coming of the storm.
It passes with no compassion.
All fall under its spell
and surrender
to its wrath.

To be forewarned
and ignore the harsh reality
is peril to the foolish.

Drowned in sorrow
reeling in pain
of inconsolable intensity.

Separation from the safety of
the father.
Succumbing to the evil lies
of those who care not
for tomorrow
but delight in the suffering of today.

Pray for the lost.
Pray for the foolish.
Pray for understanding
- before it is too late to turn back
the tide.

When it rains --- look for the rainbow.
When it's dark --- look for the stars.

Stand - against the dark.
Stand - for what is right.
Stand - to protect.
Stand - to receive the blessing.

Now is the time to stand.

What do YOU stand for?
stand up- or shut up!

What the heck is going on out there?
Are we at least learning anything?

Do we still think we can just "fix" everything?

and now a word from our sponsor... anybody listening?

** Footprints in the Sand **
One night I had a dream...
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and
across the sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
one belonged to me, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of my life flashed before us,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why in times when I
needed you the most, you should leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious
child. I love you, and I would never,
never leave you during your times of
trial and suffering.

When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

this poem has been attributed to several different authors

--Let's face it- any state that spawns Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson, Don Henly, Mercy Me, Explosions in the Sky, Ligntnin' Hopkins, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Strait, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Janis Joplin, Edgar and Johnny Winter, Tina Turner, Beyonce Knowles, Pantera, Lyle Lovett, ZZ Top, Molly Ivins, Barbara Jordan, Lyndon Johnson, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, the Bushes, Kinky Friedman and a whole mess of politicians has to embrace diversity!
Never underestimate us-we are a hale and hearty breed!

but , I gotta admit- we do things a bit differently around here....:)
Texans- ya gotta love 'em....:)

we all have a bad day every now and then...

Overwhelmed? Stressed out? .....DON'T GIVE UP!

Life is GOOD!
- I Googled it, and there it was!

It's NEVER as bad as the media will make you think--- they market suffering, 24 hours a day, from wherever they can find it. Look around- there are PLENTY of reasons to smile!
Turn off the TV and listen to some good music- without commercials.
Choose what you like to listen to. Read a good book. Take a walk.
Exercise those tired muscles and your starving BRAIN!

Help someone else- there are MANY people all over the world who would trade places with you- in a heartbeat!
Carry on. Carpe diem!

....Music, this music in particular, is indeed one of the Guardian Angels that help us to get back up one more time and face the challenges and opportunities that come our way. Some are of our own choosing, some are inspired by others, some might be considered an obstacle to the paths that we have chosen to explore. But you are not alone. Others have come before you and have left knowledge and inspiration that guides us and lightens our individual load. You, too, will leave behind something of value for those who follow. Make your choices carefully and don't squander the opportunities or be blinded by the cynicism that erodes our confidence and dampens our spirit to continue. Dreams and hope keep us alive and eager to rise against whatever negative occurrence discourages us. You are not alone. Never will be. You are a vital part of THE BIG PICTURE - the puzzle that we piece together one step at a time. And you just may be someone else's Guardian Angel...

That'll work--Thank you God!

............ -- I dream a lot....

Well- at least we know it exists.....

uhhh-- Excuse me Lord-- we're over here!

ya gotta do what ya gotta do....

We're not there yet- but thanks for your prayers!

Just keep looking until you find it....:)

Look around- there are plenty of good reasons to smile-

dang- there is some good MUSIC in here!

How is it that we have become so DISconnected
in this "connected" society?

Many are frantically looking -- elsewhere.
Some are content - where they are.
Some are lost or overwhelmed.
Some escape-- however they can...

Most are just too busy to even think about it
-- they just keep walking, climbing
--- unaware who may be getting trampled along the way.

Those are people down there!

Maybe some people just cannot keep up-
no matter how hard they try.

So they just give up.
And we ALL lose.

Their gift is never shared.
Their contribution is never understood.
Their potential to make a difference is lost.

Reach out and help.
Then YOU have made a difference, too!

Thank you....
some days we all get down there.....

"To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and to endure the betrayal of false friends.

To appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch,
or a redeemed social condition;
to know that even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.

This is the meaning of success."

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Words CAN make a difference, but it is nice to reach out and touch, too!
Just keep looking until you find it....:)

Life is a conundrum, isn't it?
...but what can ya do?

Forgiveness: sometimes you just gotta let it slide when something hurts - or things don't go as planned...:)

In fact- I guess when life just sucks, you just gotta blow back at it. This, too, shall pass.....:)

we need some MORE of this stuff--

Grace and compassion.
If we can get a handle on those two things, we'll all be okay....:)

I am constantly under construction - trying to "fix" me - and the rest of the world , too- if possible.

..sometimes the littlest thing you do makes all the difference- ya just gotta be willing...:)

---"Back off Bonebreath... Hey! Read my tail--- do I look worried? I got NO problems--but I'm not stupid enough to walk AROUND that puddle....." (watch the video, please...)
This video- with the music- expresses so gently the compassion that is within each of us- the ability and the propensity to GIVE and to SHARE. It is the simple pleasures that sustain us- not the extravagant or the grandiose. It says, simply : "just reach out and take my hand- I will always be there. I care, and I am so glad that you do , too!"

Refreshing music, Mario---- thank you!

I know, I know, I know................ :)
There is quite a bit of stuff here- music AND words. You might want to pour yourself a cup of coffee (or whatever) and pull up a chair. I'm on a mission to change the world- one brain, one heart at a time- starting with my own. I don't expect you to agree with everything in here- but I hope it will make you dig a little deeper and think about some things.

Life is short -- and life is GOOD!
But it sure can get messy at times.

There is some stuff in here that might help you get through the inevitable bad things--- and learn to appreciate the good things. They are BOTH out there.

Bottom line: Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain!

( I didn't say that first- but I wish I did...)

one other thing-- I know I repeat myself sometimes in here. I just keep adding, seldom removing stuff- and I know that only a few hearty souls will read it all. But it is all interesting- to ME at least. ENJOY- and happy listening!

I'll shut up now- but keep reading!.....
watch the video-- incredible!!!!! Breath-taking images...
and beautiful music as well.

Well- here is one very beautiful opinion right here- thanks Linda!
--those mountain bears are quite adept at survival- and this one is wise....'s%2520Gonna%2520Be%2520Alright?ac=everything's%20gonna%20 ... " ya drive up in a Porsche", and then....reality.... -- ya gotta love 'em....heck- I AM one...:) -- she wrote this song about her dog- but it fits so well as a love song that people have used it at their wedding- go figure- dogs/lovers-- whodathunkit? <D> just BE happy- works for me...:) I can relate!

I hope to shed a bit of light on some things- get people to think about what they are doing, where they are headed- who is being affected by their actions. And I do aspire to inspire- I am moved by the strangest things sometimes and I just can't wait to share that AHA! moment when an epiphany slaps me across the face.

I appreciate the opportunity to meet you folks- to pick your brain and discover how things are in Australia, Croatia and Greece and China, and the United Kingdom and Scotland, and Ireland and Turkey, and Canada, and France and Germany, Japan, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Africa, Egypt, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Norway, Nova Scotia, New Zealand, Brazil, and BEYOND------Utah and Kansas--- places I have never seen or visited but now have friends/acquaintances there who share their deepest feelings with me about the life we ALL share. And what a life it is!

Now I have done it---- I couldn't possibly list all the places- but you know who you are and where you come from.

If you find something in here that gives you a moment of clarity- a second of unfound joy- please say something in a shout or a pm to let me know. I never know who is watching out there. My map thingy I just got shows a bunch of people dropping by- and that is good. But I have no idea whether they dug into my journals or just laughed at the moving characters and went back to their computers- and their homes far away from here in Texas. ...I know you are out there. I can feel you.

So I guess you could say I DO get out- often- if you count the many inspirations & blessings I receive from you folks in Timbuktu and Neverneverland. I need to know that what I do makes a difference- somewhere. It gives me encouragement beyond simple dreams. Just say howdy and give me a thumbs up or a thumbs down if that is all you can muster.

But do be one of us who wants to make a difference- exponentially- by touching the lives of others. Thank you- Namaste!

My sweet wife is a nanny and she makes it possible for me to continue what I do here. And my parents, and my two sons. It takes a lot to keep us all going...

I'm kinda on a mission to change the world - one person and one heart at a time if necessary- starting with me, of course.

you might have to look outside the box!

Join me in finding treasure from around the world- the music and the people!

Forgiveness is a process. Forgiveness is not about giving your approval of an offender's wrong-doing. It's not about viewing what they did as less harmful than it truly was. And it's not about giving the offender a "free pass" to keep on doing wrong actions against you.

"Forgiveness is about recognizing that staying resentful creates an "active echo" of the pain the offender caused. By saying that the awful offense the offender did is "beyond forgiving" you give them the power to the keep their offense active in your heart.
Basically, you give the offender continued power over you.

Forgiveness begins with the mind recognizing that there's a truthful logic in how the past cannot be changed, but happily the present and future can be.

Eventually forgiveness progresses to the heart - with the heart deciding it will no longer allow the offender's pain to take permanent residence.

Yes, it is a process, but eventually the mind and heart together recognize that the choice to forgive is both logical and spiritually liberating."

If you are a bit frantic over recent world events- watch this video. It helps me to put things in perspective. we are connected- whether or not we like or acknowledge it...:)

and there are so many....
...listening to this as I watch the desolation of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan...and the other events unfolding around the globe- so much suffering, so many people struggling to survive despite the overwhelming adversities that befall us. So incredibly, horribly sad. And yet---- we endure....:) May God have mercy on our soul...

Please pray for the millions of people in places all over the world who are reeling from disasters and human born tragedies of unimaginable description. And give thanks if you are not one of the afflicted, but are here reading this.....

Is it over? Is it over for the people of Indochina who had their own earthquake/tsunami disaster? Or the people of Haiti? Or New Orleans, for that matter? Or a long list of names and places who are still suffering the effects of things far beyond their control - and far beyond their fault. I think not. It is but the beginning of the signs and wonders spoken of thousands of years ago. Ignore it at your peril.

If you get downhearted, you could always stop by and just read till you can grin again....:)
Or if recent events in your life- and others- have you considering that you should dig a bit deeper- it may be time to make some serious decisions about your own life - while you can.

I hate to disturb your psyche- but there are some things that need to be addressed in our own lives that should not be ignored. I'm trying to get my house in order. I hope you are at peace with yours! Namaste...

LIFE 101--
got a couple of new journal entries- been thinking a lot lately....

...I can't imagine a world without music.
JTMc

**************************************************************************************************************************************** and dogs- can you ever forgive us?

Join me in living out MY bucketlist- right here, right now. Make me grin- or go away! Unless YOU need a grin, and then I'm good for that, too- have fun- but behave yerself! Waoooooow!

"The world on the one hand likes routine, but we celebrate the innovators and those who are bit out of step. Don't get me wrong. It's difficult to be out of step with everyone else but once people see your vision, the world beats a path to your door."
...thank you Nicole for that incredible bit of wisdom and encouragement for us all..:)

To whoever reads this stuff:
I care. Millions of people do. You should, too. :)

Have a happy, healthy peaceful and prosperous new year- and life..

I'm not a Bible thumper- just a man who feels the presence of God in his every day life in sometimes weird ways- like here at But that is MY choice. You are blessed with the choice for yourself- we all are. I got mine- you got yours- let's live together in harmony as best we can. Namaste. I respect your choice- and your culture. Please don't blast mine. Namaste....

"Why can't we just all get along?"

If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking.....George S. Patton Thank YOU!

And thank you- for whatever it is that you do to make a difference in the lives and well-being of others!!!!
It is exponentially a good thing..... says so much....:)'t+Give+Up (as good as it gets!)'s+Been+Good yep.....

"You hold the greatest power of all: the ability to design your own life. It's what you decide to do each morning and how you feel at the end of the day. Its choosing to ignore limitations and being open to life's possibilities. All of them. It's your mind, body and spirit - your journey. Ready to exercise your options?" is my prayer, my hope, and my desire that you might have SO MUCH to be thankful for.......and are at peace with WHO to thank.

Namaste-- I bow to you and your culture out of respect...........

A while back I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! And then I realized that there are many of my friends around the world who don't celebrate this day- it is an American holiday.

Thanksgiving is a time for us here in America (and we hope around the world) to reflect on all the blessings- the serendipitous things that happen in our world. Despite the troubles and problems and disappointments- we still have MUCH to be thankful for.
You may have a different perspective of God- that's okay, too.
It's your choice.
There is always something to be thankful for!

....and pause- for a moment to hear this haunting depiction of respect and sorrow for the courageous people all over the world who are willing to die, if necessary- for a taste of FREEDOM- then get back to smiling, coz that will slap your soul if you let it DIScourage you.... There IS joy in triumphant success!

"There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread." ~Mother Teresa
Spread it around..........................
"Music, this music in particular, is indeed one of the Guardian Angels that help us to get back up one more time and face the challenges and opportunities that come our way.

And you just may be someone else's Guardian Angel..."

Dig in folks- I've got an opinion on just about everything- but the music is what got us all here.... I'm just trying to spread a bit of cheer here and there....

...some interesting quotes that might stimulate some thinking....

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered—forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives—be kind anyway.

If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies—succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you—be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, some could destroy overnight—build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous—be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow—do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough—give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God—it was never between you and them anyway.
—Mother Teresa

The two quotes above were taken from the wall of LFM subscriber and contributor- SirAlecHendrix. Thanks!

"I wouldn't be who I am if not for you..."
... and you DO inspire me and (try to) keep me grounded! THANKS!

Even a little kid knows some things are just not right... :(

I'm too busy looking for the good stuff...

this video cracks me up ...

and this...
and this makes me smile, often...

and of course this.. ---RAINBOWS!---
grab what you can and run with it!'s all relative.... --- just nice to look at...

I am as mellow as the city ever gets. Fuzzy lights shimmering in the mist. A blanket of sweet smells emanating from the pastry shop on the corner. The sound of late night jazz in the distance. Laughter in the streets as a car door slams. Industrial machinery humming to the heartbeat of the city. City lights. Turn 'em on, brother - turn 'em on..

I will not go quietly into the night...
The picture above? No- that is not me and my wife- not yet- but I hope to be just like that someday when everyone else has given up and hunkered down, although I need to look at this to remind me of that- life is as good- as you make it...

---in fact, here is a song that says just that...'s+What+You+Make+It
It's a simple fact of life- and a good song, too!

...and this has a surprise at the end- wait for it!

and another tidbit from JTMc-- "Since the early days of mankind when we all lived in caves, there were those who felt compelled to write on the walls the wisdom gained so that future generations might learn. Those who followed sometimes learned from it --- others cleaned the "filthy walls" and erased the very attempt to share that wisdom. Just a snippet left here and there was enough, but barely. Then there was the MUSIC- which transformed that passion into something that could not be erased. It was carried within the hearts of all who took the time to listen - and learn.

LIFE IS GOOD! Holler at me! I'd love to holler back atcha!...
..... leave a shout or a pm if you visit my little world here. I especially made it your world, too and it comforts me to know what you think or why you dropped by.. Namaste

Namaste: I bow to you and your culture, out of respect - regardless of who you are or where you come from. We are all inhabitants of this common ball of dirt, air, and water - planet earth. There is enough here for all of us to enjoy- if we share.
-------and this warms my heart...

OUT NOW (06-17-2010)
EXXXXXXXXXXXXXXCELLENT -- Industrial strength brain dance!!

In the meantime- here are some of my favorites tidbits of wisdom- no matter what you have been going through...

*The richest person is not the one who has the most-- it is the one who needs the least.

* Love as if you've never been hurt -- and dance like no one is watching.

* Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

* "Believe nothing- no matter who said it- not even if I said it- unless it agrees with your own common sense."

...thanks for stopping by- make yourself at home. I DID live through the 60s and 70s and still have many of the old classics in every form there ever was- from 4 track to 8 track to vinyl and cassette to CD ... I love the music from those times and have a lot of it here on Lastfm. I graduated from high school in 1970 and college in 1975. I was there. It was beautiful- but there was terror and angst then, too! Wars- ecological and economic disasters, corruption, etc. AND the FLOWER POWER- and a lot of love. Look around you and discover how you can make a difference and find your own joy, too. Life is GOOD- and often a pain in the butt, too.:):)

"The thing about music that gets me---- it is ageless if done right. I get tickled when I hear a song from my parent's generation and realize they had the same angst and concerns as we did- and my kids do - and their kids probably will. NOPE> and if we would only just listen- we would learn from the whispers of generations past." jTMc

Are you looking for an epiphany? One of those "AHA!" moments when the light bulb goes off in your brain---- (we call 'em "I'll be dang" moments here in Texas). There is a paradigm shift taking place- maybe you'll find one. I'm always looking for one - I love 'em! Epiphanies R us!

Blind Faith - sometimes you just gotta believe.
Put one foot in front of the other and just step on out there.- push play.
(sometimes you bust your butt, too)

When that happens, just get back up.

Now go out and find YOUR joy!....

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." --Hunter S. Thompson ( thanx Stretchead)

Music is my passion, the only thing that drives me where I want to go, yet takes me places I've never been before. I love discovering new stuff and rediscovering the "fossils" that will never leave my mind. You just gotta dig 'em up and dust 'em off every now and then - they're still in there. Isn't it amazing how a particular song can trigger memories - vivid memories long since forgotten- you thought...
I particularly enjoy the fact that people all over the world are listening to music and sharing their thoughts ( here on is to be commended for helping to bring us together, if only in thought and respect for the artist's ability to move and touch us in uniquely personal ways. It is amazing how music stimulates, soothes, relaxes and even heals us... I chat with people all over the world every day and share tunes with them - a common denominator...

Botom Line: It's NOT "about me"- it's about the music. This whole diatribe is simply my perception of music and how we relate to it as fellow human beings.

..."If an artist's desire is to communicate a passion or a concept- it cannot and should not be compared to another's. It simply falls upon our ears and minds and lingers within our hearts until we either like it or we don't. But to discourage an artist's attempt to share that passion is cowardly and demonstrates envy and inadequacy- and the realization of inferiority. I DO enjoy this piece- immensely. If I did not I would simply move on to another- not degrade the artist." ( a shout of mine- some jerk dropped a turd and said the artist wasn't good- rankled me a bit, I guess...:) Agroangus liked it, so I put it here- he's my mentor sometimes...:) and Nicole liked it, too- must have struck a chord..:)

When it comes to "crap" music, one man's crap is another man's fertilizer - think about that before you knock someone else's preferences.... it's all relative..................

some good advice....................
"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I said it, unless it agrees with your OWN common sense."

... from a Shpongle shout I did a while back... " Behind closed eyelids? I thought he was talking about the other side of elevator doors. Imagine a little kid standing in an elevator for the very first time in his life -- the door closes, something feels like it is moving--- then WHOA! The doors open and THERE IS A WHOLE NEW WORLD THERE! Where did the other world go? WTF? Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, it's all weird when you are a little kid. Or a Shpongledyte.. Heehee"

from Side Liner - "One Way To Paradise" -There is no doubt more than one way to get there, depending on your own personal version and vision of what paradise is. It could be what you just left behind that looks very appealing to some people. But is there some place even better? For you, there just may be. Keep looking until you find it. Or until you see what has been there all along... "

Sometimes I get on a roll and just can't stop.... Music is like those elevator doors to me - especially the first time I hear a song...

from Porcupine Tree...When the riptide pulls you out, sometimes you just have to relax until you get thrown to the edges where you can begin to swim again. When life has kicked your butt, it's up to you to find out how to get up one more time...but you gotta get up.

Which reminds me....
My playlist STILL BEHIND THE WHEEL has a lot of songs that I think reach out in a nice way- to all kinds of people all over the world - many who are suffering one thing or another - neglect - hunger - lost love (that hurts, too!) - famine - natural disaster - fear from oppressors -- there IS a lot of pain out there. BUT THERE IS JOY AND BEAUTY ALSO. Some of this music just gives me renewed strength - and hope - there is ALWAYS hope for those who have faith... that someone is Still Behind The Wheel... -john

If you love something- NEVER give it up!

and don't worry about those who disagree--it's YOUR life- just live it.....

Carry on-

**Thanks to my sweet wife and my sons for making it possible for me to do what I do here.
