"I'm into about every form of music I can feel an organic root in." Hear hear, totally agree with you. Cool bio and also great music you're listening to.

Well all I can say is all hail to Mrs Williams for sharing my taste more easily than you seem to... But be careful there are some bad words in some of the comedy clips and rock poetry - John Cooper Clarke has a dirty mouth but a brilliant brain. I skimmed through your library just now - Love some of those people. I notice you haven't yet listened to Ivor Cutler! A very British eccentric poet (well actually he's Scottish)... but I wouldn't want him to babysit for my grandchildren! But at least he doesn't swear.

Hi, You keep on appearing alongside a lot of the stuff I like. Check out Steamhammer - Junior's Wailing. They got good and went pro a year or so after I left them in the late 60s. My trial period on Last.fm is just about to run out... Do you think I should sign up? What's you view? CS

On a related note, I'm curious about why you think Frankie Laine's version of "Shine" is a travesty. Is it because it is a poor version musically, or because it might seem incongruous for Frankie Laine to record it when he is best known for doing songs like "Rawhide", "High Noon" and "Mule Train"?

Jimmy, what do you think about Django Reinhardt's version of "Shine"?

Jimmy. which tune are we talking about? I leave so many comments around last.fm that I cannot always remember where I've left them! What's the Gene Vincent track I should be listening to (or rather, not listening to!). Louis. PS I'm just about to give your site a listening to. Some nice stuff on it.

If it is good or slightly demented, has a message, uplifts the soul, or it reflects the joy sorrow and angst of life: turn it up baby.
