Ah, I see. That's cool. Please tell me what do you think about Аквариум if you get your paws on it! :)

Ah, and one more thing about Boris Grebentshikov — he was the one who helped Viktor Tsoy (Кино) a lot back when Tsoy wasn't that popular :)

Nice post-classical taste in general, and speaking of USSR/Russian music, my advice would be to give Аквариум (Aquarium) band a try. Boris Grebentshikov is without a doubt the brightest and the most unique (in his eclectics) spark of Russian rock music. He's even higher than genres or categories... He also has two English albums that are considered not-so-successful by critics, though I enjoy those. Those are «Radio Silence» (recorded in the USA) and «Radio London» (recorded in UK). Here's Radio London — http://grooveshark.com/#!/album/Radio+London/7257143 and here's Radio Silence — http://grooveshark.com/#!/album/Radio+Silence/7257083

I recommend Skeeter Davis if you are ever in the mood for sad 60s country.

Probably because you don't raid my RYM nearly enough. ;) Speaking of which, I'm probably due to raid yours. Anyway, Asobi Seksu are definitely pretty brilliant, I highly recommend all of their albums. And Spiritualized's too, since I saw you got LGWAFIS. That one's probably their best, but they cover a lot of ground (mostly between spacey noise-rock and gospel, but I'm not even sure what to call Songs In A & E).

I was crazy busy/stressed with end of high school exams (last may) and then my first year of university, plus some other life stuff, and basically took a break from most internet stuff. But it's impossible to stay away forever :)

Glad you like them - I was hooked as soon as I heard 'Long Island.' Seen them play a few times too. If I had a criticism it's with quality control - they churn out waaaaay too much crap.

The whole principle of RYM has always seemed a bit silly to me, given how massively subjective the greatness or shiteness of any given band is. Is there more to it than just ratings?

But I have indeed thought about how sometimes I feel more comfortable talking to people who aren't entirely fluent in English, since my own awkward wording is no longer suspect. But for various reasons, I think that's kind of problematic.

http://stuffaspergerpeoplelike.com/2008/07/14/3-marriages-to-people-from-other-countries/ Ignore the exoticizing and racism. But this is weird, because both of our partners are from different countries (and Jordan, who has some traits of AS, only had one other partner, and she was from Belgium originally). But in our case, I think it's not so much that there were cultural differences that allowed us to act however we wanted---since the US and Canada aren't that different---but that we just didn't have many (or any) friends where we lived, which is probably common for Aspies (although it has changed somewhat for me now).
