I've spent this morning listening to MACHINA/The Machines of God and reading through some of the Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, James Iha, Zwan drama that followed on to the breakup. I'll need to pick up Zeitgeist when it comes out. Oh, I'll buy it off iTunes. That's the only way to go these days.
Machina may be the most underrated album SP ever released. I suppose it could be accused of being slightly repetitive, but I think it's true to the SP sound. That always seemed like the hard part to being in a band. Having your sound and staying true to it while innovating. I think even U2 Departed too far from the original sound starting just after Rattle and Hum. I hated that whole thing. Shows what a fan I really wasn't I suppose.
I think I'll continue the SP theme for the day.
