    1. How did you get into 29? (The Sleepy Jackson)
Ben Lee hosted a program (I think it was when he took over Channel V's WhatUWant in 2005ish) and he played the "Good Dancers" video, and I really liked it. I downloaded some more of their stuff and yeah..."the rest is history"...

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? (Eskimo Joe). Well, since I can remember I've had "From the Sea", except I didn't know who it was by (and this was back in the day when I was about ten and had no idea how to find out the artist). So, I guess it was ""From the Sea".

    3. What's your favorite lyric by 33? (Jesse McCartney - lol how sad). Ummm possibly in "Because You Live"...
    "Because you live
I have everything I need to survive".
I'm a sucker for cute lyrics.

    4. What is your favorite album by 49? (My Chemical Romance). hmmm...I really like "Welcome To The Black Parade". However, some songs from "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" are pretty hard to overlook. But I'd have to say "Black Parade".

    5. How many albums by 13 do you own? (Pink)
None. I was going to get "mizundastood" back in the day, but I didn't. And these days, I pretty much only buy albums from Australian bands, and download the rest. I figure most people who make it out here have enuogh people buying their albums anyway.

    6. What is your favorite song by 50? (I don't seem to HAVE a 50. odd)

    7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad? (Death Cab for Cutie). At times "What Sarah Said" can seem a little depressing, but they are a great band, so generally speaking, no.

    8. What is your favorite song by 15? (Taylor Swift). EASILY "I'd Lie". Lyrically its easy to relate to, and overall just a beautiful song. I've sent it to many of my friends, and they all agree.

    9. What is your favorite song by 5? (Kisschasy). Ohhh, don't make me choose! These boys are my "band of the moment". However, I'd have to say "Black Dress", because it uses so many instruments and the lyrics Darren wrote (although somewhat morbid) are simple and moving. But "Factory" is a pretty close second, and "Ugly Birds in a Beautiful Cage".

    10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? (Missy Higgins). Of coarse! "Scar" is boppy, and "The Special Two" is gorgeous. However, my favourite song of her's is "Sugarcane" - its not really a 'happy' song, but I love it.

    11. What is your favorite album by 40? (Panic! at the Disco). Given they've only had one album out, it's pretty much by default "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out".

    12. What is your favorite song by 10? (Simple Plan). Easily "Untitled (How Could This Happen to Me?)". For a band who whinges a lot, this song is pretty good. And they play it awesome live.

    13. What is a good memory you have involving 30? (Delta Goodrem). Um, I'm not too sure. I'm a bit on the fence with her right now. Although I guess everyone remembers when she found out about her cancer scare...not that that's ANYONE'S favourite. I just don't really have a favourite.

    14. What is your favorite song by 38? (Pete Murray). Hmm. I'd have to say "Opportunity". Its so positive, and in this day and age, positive songs seem to be few and far between.

    15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? (Blink 182). I love "Rock Show" - that was the first song I heard of there's, so it takes me back to the days of long car trips and diskman's. But overall, Blink are just awesome.

    16. How many times have you seen 25 live? (Klinger). Pfft, none, they'd broken up before I'd found them.

    17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23? (Kelly Clarkson). I guess, like most of the Australian population, it was "Since U Been Gone". That song was unavoidable for awhile there.

    18. What is your favorite album by 11? (The Anti-Q's). By default, their EP. Although it is a bloody awesome EP.

    19. Who is a favorite member of 1? (Ben Lee). What a shit question. Ben, obviously.

    20. Have you ever seen 14 live? (Good Charlotte). Yes, a few weeks ago with Kisschasy and The Hot Lies. THEY WERE AWESOME.

    21. What is a good memory involving 27? (Lostprophets). Pfft, I don't know. 'Finding' them from their "Rooftops" video?

    22. What is your favorite song by 16? (Busted). Hmm. Probably "Meet You There" - a lot less boy-bandish then most of their songs. And a nice acoustic song never went astray.

    23. What is the first song you ever heard by 47? (Kathleen Hanna). By default, her cover of Ben Lee's "I Wish I Was Him". Thats the only song of hers I've got. Not sure HOW she managed to get to 47 with that...

    24. What is your favorite album by 18? (Ben Kweller). I'd have to say his latest self-titled one (Ben Kweller). Its gorgeoous, and ever since it came out, "Penny on the Traintrack" has been one of my all time favourite songs.

    25. What is your favorite song by 21? (End of Fashion). That would be "Lock Up Your Daughters", followed closely by "O Yeah".

    26. What is the first song you ever heard by 26? (Don't have a 26 either)

    27. What is your favorite album by 3? (Shannon Noll). His first one (I think) - "Lift".

    28. What is you favorite song by 2? (Ben Folds). Damn, Foldsy has so many awesome tracks. I adore "There's Always Someone Cooler Than You". But "Gracie" is gorgeous, and so is "Still Fighting It". But I'd probably have to say "The Luckiest".

    29. What was the first song you ever heard by 32?

    30. What is you favorite song by 8? (Noise Addict). "16" for sure. That was the althem of my life last year.

    31. How many times have you seen 17 live? (don't have a 17)

    32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy? (Foo Fighters). So many are fact, most of the songs from "In Your Honour" would probably cheer me up.

    33. What is you favorite album by 12? (Eminem). Its a toss-up between "Encore" and "Curtain Call", because I love "Mockingbird" and "When I'm Gone". But given I enjoy most of his hits, I'm going to have to say "Curtain Call".

    34. What is the worst song by 45? (Don't have a 45, bah)

    35. What was the first song you ever heard by 34? (Rob Thomas). I'm not sure. Probably one of the ones the radio overplayed. I'm going with "This Is How a Heart Breaks".

    36. What is you favorite album by 48? (Dashboard COnfesisonal). I'd have to say "Dusk And Summer" because so many songs on there have amazing lyrics, and are just gorgeous songs overall.

    37. How many times have you seen 42 live? (yep, you guessed it - no 42)

    38. What is you favorite song by 36? (Green Day). "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is awesome, although the video goes for way too long (unless you compare it to "Jesus Of Surberbia", in which case, it feels short).

    39. What was the first song you ever heard by 28? (Teddy Geiger). Obviously, "For You I Will (Confidence))". That would have been a lot of people's first, I'd imagine.

    40. What is you favorite album by 7? (Nickelback). Contraversially, I'm going with "All The Right Reasons", because every song on there gets plays in iTunes at times. And "Far Away" is my favourite song by far.

    41. Is there a song by 31 that makes you happy? (The Rocket Summer). I ADORE "Never Knew". I could listen to that all day and never get bored.

    42. What is your favorite album by 41? (no 41)

    43. What is your favorite song by 24? (Faker). I really like their new song "Love For Sale", but "Love for Sale" is definately my fave.

    44. What is a good memory you have involving 46? (Jimmy Eat World). Iono, maybe finding out via the radio their band name came about because Jimmy's little brother was angry at him and drew a picture of Jimmy eating the world. Haha, cuteness.

    45. What is your favorite song by 35? (Tim McGraw). LOVE LOVE LOVE "Don't Take the Girl". and "My Little Girl" is totally adorable too.

    46. Is there a song by 9 that makes you happy? (The Bens). I love all their songs. Just the fact that three of my favourite artists are involved in each song is awesome. But "Bruised" and "Just Pretend" hardly ever get skipped in iTunes.

    48. Who is a favorite member of 37? (MC Lars). Again, what a crappy question.

    49. What is the first song you ever heard by 43? (Yellowcard). Damn, I have no idea. I guess it could have been "Lights and Sounds" but thats just a guess. I've loved them for a long time.

    50. How many albums do you own by 20? ("Weird Al" Yankovic). None, as yet.

    5 Nov 2006, 22:21

I yoinked the idea from someone else (thanks!...i didn't check who it was, sorry...)

I know "Busted" aren't in my top 10, but i'll do them as well, because i love them...

    3) Falling For You(even though the lyrics are a bit cheesy, and at times, too much gotta love it coz its so catchy!)

    2) Loner In Love(because right now, i can definately relate to that...well, most of i still have my front teeth :P)

    1) What I Go to School For(the first one i heard of there’s, and my definate fave...i changed the words to suit my crush...he thought it was funny as, which was good...and its just a completely AWESOME song!)

now, for the real top 10...

    10 - The Anti-Q's

These dudes aren't very big yet, but we're myspace mates, and they're awesome. they've only released an EP, so there are only four songs to choose from...

    3) Don't you want to be cool
    2) All for you(the first i heard by them, on ben lee's second podcast, and fell in love with it)
    1) Little Jesus(don't let the name fool you, nothing about religion at all...just an awesome song...see the clip for it at

    9 - The Bens

this band consists of Ben Lee, Ben Kweller and Ben Folds, who released a 4 track EP. again, only four tracks to choose from, apart from a few live covers they've done...

    3) Just Pretend(love the line "sticks and stones and broken homes are what taught us how to smile" and just the fact that all 3 bens get parts of the song)
    2) XFire (one, because ben lee's the vocalist in it, and two, just because its so cocky, but so funny!)
    1) Bruised (ben lee wrote this, for one...but it is just an amazing song...definitely their best, and they know it - ben lee covers it quite frequently at concerts and its on ben folds' new album)

    8 - Noise Addict

an old punk-rock band with frontman ben lee when they were just 14. gotta love it for the cuteness...but you'd be surprised at the quality of some of their stuff...

    3) Boyfriendship (take a listen to it...the lyrics are so well written!)
    2) Back In Your Life(a Jonathon Richman cover, but i love the lines "take me way up north to meet your mum and dad, so they'll see your pal ben ain't quite so bad" me a laugh)
    1) 16 (i can so relate to it, and its just such a good song...very catchy...makes me wonna scream "i'm only 16!!" every time it’s on lol)

    7 - Nickelback

i'm sure y'all know who THEY are :P

    3) How You Remind Me(currently on rotation on my school’s “music” bell, and the whole school grins when the first few chords start)
    2) Rockstar (makes me wonna be famous too lol)
    1) If Everyone Cared(so well written!)

    6 - Kisschasy

A good Aussie band who I’ve seen live once…they were awesome. They’ve been a support act to Simple Plan, among people – they are definitely going somewhere!

    3) The Shake(saw a live acoustic version – so good!)
    2) It’s Getting Easier to Die(from “The Shake” EP – the title is a little morbid, but fear not, it’s a top song!)
    1) Black Dress(the first time I heard this, I wanted to cry…it is so sad!)

    5 - Missy Higgins

“Found” on a Triple J competition, Australia was quick to embrace her, and she cleaned up at the 2005 ARIAs. Currently she’s recording her second album. At first, I didn’t like her at all, but it’s so hard not to love her!

    3) Nightminds (very well written)
    2) 10 Days(loved it from the first time I heard it on the radio, before I even knew who it was)
    1) They Weren’t There(the lyrics are amazing, and I can definitely relate to this song)

    4- Ben Folds Five

A trio (yes, only three lol) with frontman Ben Folds. An awesome band!

    3) Army (a very funny song)
    2) Zak And Sara(the first I heard by the group, and an instant hit with me)
    1) Brick (I read what the song was about before I heard it, and the first time I did, I was almost crying. A very, very touching song)

    3 - Shannon Noll

Although I’m completely against idol (the rest of the “idols” in my playlist are thanks to my sister listening to her music in my account), but Nollsy is just so aussie, and he can definitely belt out a song or two. I know my choices are radio faves, which I tend to steer away from, but he did pick the right ones to release from the album…

    3) Lift (he’s so positive…makes me smile)
    2) Shine(it was everywhere for months after its release in aust, and its so hard not to sing along with it)
    1) Lonely (loved it before he released it and it overtook the radio)

    2 - Ben Folds

This man can do no wrong. He can play the guitar and drums, and is one of the best pianists you’ll probably ever see. He can write better then almost anyone else I’ve heard. His track record is amazing. Take a listen if you know what’s good for you…

    3) You To Thank(love the first line – “by the time the buzz was wearing off, we were standing out on the sidewalk with our tattoos that looked liked rings” – makes me want one lol)
    2) The Luckiest(so romantic…*sigh*)
    1) Still Fighting It/Gracie (I can’t choose between the two…both amazing…and strangely enough, both about his kids…hmm go figure lol)

    1- Ben Lee

My all time fave artist by a long shot. I met him early this year, and he is the nicest guy ever – lol he knew who I was (and rightly so, being his number one fan and all lol). My top ten from his work is:

    10) Running With Scissors(loved it from first spin…so awesome!)
    9) Eight Years Old(adorable…what else can I say?)
    8) Grammercy Park Hotel(love the lines “and if there comes a day / when my fingers don’t work / or my voice looses sound / gives me grief, gives me hurt / well, I swear on that day / when I loose what’s worthwhile / from that day forth / I never shall smile”)
    7) Catch My Disease(you all know this song…if you don’t, where have you been this last year??)
    6) Deep Talk In The Shallow End(so full of pain…makes me wonna go and give him a hug lol)
    5) In The Desert(a B-Side…so freakin’ good…check it out at my myspace if you have a high connection speed…
    4) My Guitar(its so cute! And pretty true too…)
    3) Cigarettes Will Kill You (Ben’s first big hit…makes me wonna go eat something lol)
    2) Since I Met You(a newie that was tacked on the end of “Awake Is The New Sleep” – download it free at
    1) End Of The World (my hands down fave…I don’t know why I love it so much, I just do)

That’s my top 10 (well, 11). Thanks for reading!
