If the other artists (who a I am familiar with) are any indication then I'm going to have to check out High Highs. Thanks for the involuntary recommendation.

This month, or this year? >;o) So far this month I am digging two very different styles (1) the Warlocks, a downtempo, shoegaze group best known for droning, heavy guitars and (2) SPC ECO which is the remnants of one of my favorite groups (Curve) best knows for their outre lyrics and independent persona. If I had to pick two songs from both groups, give "Moving Mountains" a try from Warlocks and "Gone" from SPC ECO. Hope you like!

Ahh so much fun! And Chicago is such a beautiful city! I did get quite sunburned, but hopefully I'll go home with a nice tan :P I just left Chicago this morning actually, and now am in New York. Did you see Cut Copy? I had such a proud moment watching them and seeing how much the crowd seemed to love it :)

haha just tell me what they are. i have my ways of obtaining music. and i'm into indie/folk too. i dl'd the Dodos album, just haven't listened to it yet. and hmm, i never really listened to Blue Scholars that much tbh. i'll give it a spin soon. you should try out Nujabes then (he's the producer) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5-2-jD-42Q

Too many to name lol, and it always changes with my moods. I'm always looking for new music though. I'm glad we're not even "super"... meaning you have a library I can raid haha. What do you think of the new Coldplay single?

Wow thanks so much for all that. I think there are some free concerts at Millenium Park while I'm around, so I'll definitely go check out the park and see some music while I'm at it :) Navy Pier seems like a lovely way to get out and see the skyline. Looks like there's fireworks on the weekends during Summer, so that would be nice. Chicago looks like a really beautiful city. I'll only be there for 6 nights, and Pitchfork will take up a lot of my time there, but I'll definitely try fit in some sightseeing too. Thanks for your tips!

I'm especially interested in singer/songwriter stuff, like Iron& wine, Bon iver etc. Also bands like the Dears and Midlake are great, but I could name dozens more.

I was in the graduated last year in the Interactive Arts and Media dept...i ended up just doing web development. I'm waiting to see the daily line ups for Lolla to see a few band, but i'm looking forward to death cab and frightened rabbit at UIC. That should be a good show.
