an ode to Tom Vek

I haven't listened to any new music in an age. But I really don't care cos there's currently a Tom Vek revival happening on my itunes. Not that he ever really went away.

I thinkC-C (You Set The Fire In Me) has won the esteamed title of my-joint-favourite-track-ever, which it shares with Unspoken. C-C has an amazing ability to make me feel instantaneously ecstatic from the first second and it has that thing that Unspoken has where it somehow seems to follow the pattern of something inside me.

Apologies for the incoherence. Basically, listen to this track, and with headphones. Tom Vek is a genius. I also love the lyrics, but perhaps being in love has a lot to do with this. They're beautifully simple but sum up exaclty how I feel.

C-C (You Set The Fire In Me)

You set the fire in me C-C
It's like I've learnt how to breathe easily
Photographed for a fashion magazine
It's just you, your God and me

I know it can't be easy for you

You set the fire in me C-C, you set the fire in me

Why go home when you'd rather see me
Feels like all my heart can do now is bleed
We should go down to the sea
It's just you, our God and me

I know it can't be easy for you

You set the fire in me C-C, you set the fire in me

You set the fire

You set the fire in me C-C, you set the fire in me

C-C

But the whole album is incredible. There isn't a single mediocre track and there are five competing for top track. I Ain't Saying My Goodbyes is easily the best song for a club setting I've ever heard.

Surely the future of music.
