"Baby Love" shows Nicole is for real, but...

You don't have to be a genius to figure out that Nicole Scherzinger is heading for success with her upcoming solo album, "Her Name is Nicole". Even though killer-ass songs like "Winning Women (feat. Rihanna)" and "Steam" aren't going to be on the album (shame on you, Nicole), the first two singles show that the album will still rock.

"Whatever U Like (feat. T.I.)" was a nice song. A departure from her strong feminine message in the duet with Rihanna, but still, I'm not complaining about the direction the single takes. The video was nice, but reminded me a little too much of "Ring the Alarm", which had a good video, but the creative-twist-style just didn't suit "Whatever U Like".

Now, "Baby Love" has arrived, featuring a very limited rap by will.i.am. I love this song, it is so simple and shows me that Nicole can do more than just sexy songs about lust and what-not. It's sweet, adorable and loveable. The video? Most people seem to hate it, but why they do, I just don't understand. For once Nicole has produced a simple, sweet music video, without all the pointless dancing and the endless amount of production. It's a perfect fit with the song, because it embodies the same principles the song embodies.

But. Nicole, sweety. You don't have to copy Rihanna, okay? The ella-part of "Umbrella (feat. Jay-Z)" wasn't what made it a success, okay? It actually was the worst part of the whole song (which was brilliant, most of the time) and everytime I hear it, I get the urge to kill somebody. Please, why the la-la-la-laaaa in the song? If you couldn't remember the lyrics, you could have re-recorded it when you did remember. Please, it sounds stupid.

Never do that again, okay?
