Alpha would have never existed without the fileshare system. Filesharing made your label. Don't spit on it. If i were a label, i would bet on live music instead cds. But anyway, if people really like the music, they will buy the album. That's what i did. The promotion on Alpha's myspace is enough. No need to do more. And if he really made a CD with Horace Andy, he's going to be really really famous soon. Don't worry.

thanks for your opinion. however we have to promote on the internet as we have no budget at all. Most people fileshare the music and likely Alpha wont be able to continue unless people actually buy the music. i have been with Alpha from the start in 1996. What do you think then we could do to improve our promo strategy?

Hi Dtouch, Well yes, i knew you were the label, but it's no justification. Alpha's music is really, really great, and he doesn't need that poor barker promotion. This strategy is just good for unsuccessful bands. Alpha deserves more. He already advertised about his lastest album on his myspace. We know what's his music like, and so we'll buy his stuffs. No need to solicite more. No hard feeling though. Good luck for the future. Clark

Hey, I just wanted to say hello and thank you for trying to keep Alpha alive. I know these are not good times... and it's so painful knowing Andy and Corin just made the best -and most underrated- music ever, and chanched some of our lives forever....

Hello ! I see you like trip-hop music... :) Radiohead launched a remix contest of their latest single Nude. I've made a Bristol remix of it (home town of Portishead, Massive Attack, Tricky, etc... well you probably know that) You can listen to it here : www.radioheadremix.com/remix/?id=1307 Hope you like it, and don't forget to vote.. support the Bristol sound ! :) Thanks !

Conóceme

Featuring Duncan Attwood, the man behind the ethereal voice on Eleventh Trip (2012), Alpha’s last record 'Alpha.Blueneck' makes it number twelve for Alpha on the album front count. Having produced Blueneck’s debut ('Scars Of The Midwest') and follow-up ('The Fallen Host'), Corin Dingley knows much of their work intimately, and has managed to turn each track on its head and transform into something quite different. This new recording is a blinded approach to remixes of songs from their first three long players. The mix of Duncan Attwood’s distinctive dark and reflective vocals, re-imagined with Alpha’s electronic haze, makes this a very unique and strangely wonderful piece of art, which will leave you feeling enjoyably melancholic.

Alpha formed in Bristol and released their first Album 'Come From Heaven' on Massive Attack's Melankolic label back in 1997, contributing to expand the famous 'trip-hop' sound. 16 years later, Corin Dingley's stellar project continues to push boundaries of electronic music, cloudy pop, hazy dub and dreamlike post-rock. From 'Stargazing' to 'Eleventh Trip' through the ethereal instrumentals of the two-part record 'Lost In A Garden Of Clouds', the melancholic romances of 'The Sky Is Mine' and the sharp reggae-dub confrontations of 'Two Phazed People' with legendary jamaican vocalist Horace Andy, Alpha never failed to reinvent itself over the years and remains as bewitching as ever.
