Top 50 Albums of 2010

21 Ene 2011, 20:46

This year I think I listened to more albums than I ever have before. I've tried to actively check out anything I hear about that sounds interesting or that someone tells me about. New genres, new labels, there was some serious innovation.

My biggest music crush of the year ended up being . Coming out of a year where I was listening to every dubstep single I could find, chillwave provided the perfect music for this past summer. Even now, listening to jj or Washed Out takes me back to roof top parties and 90 degree days.

Great list. I love your recommendations, this gives me a lot to catch up on. I have to ask about Swim - Caribou, and Daft Punk's reunion for the Tron Legacy soundtrack.....not good enough for your list?

I liked the Caribou album, but i never really gave it enough spins to make it into the top 50. I'd only heard the Daft Punk at your place, but I keep forgetting to check it out. Somehow I missed the Four Tet album entirely.

Good list. You should also check out the following: Janelle Monae - "The ArchAndroid". The Walkmen - "Lisbon". Broken Bells - "Broken Bells". Spoon - "Transference". The Black Keys - "Brothers". Robyn - "Body Talk (part 1, 2 & 3)". Vampire Weekend - "Contra". The Roots - "How I Got Over". Hope you take a listen to these, they're worth it.

it's a shame I didn't put any OFWGKTA albums on there as I've gotten into them very much so lately. Tyler, The Creator, Earl, and OFWGKTA - Radical would have all probably made it on here and Domo Genius would have been a contender.
