Hello ! First off I'd like to start by saying that NMFT this year was super rad! Just a quick question, do you know of any place in toronto that would sell Japanese music or is cdjapan.co.jp the only way to get music (If It's not on Itunes, as in Group_Inou case). Thank you.

I actually wrote my thoughts in QT's shoutbox. I love the album. It's not as powerful/aggressive in tone as Limelight. But it's more mature (esp lyrically) and still plenty intense. But that's just my opinion. If you didn't like the samples which usually give the best parts then you probably won't like the new album.

How do you like the new Qomolangma Tomato? I've been contemplating buying it, but to be honest, the samples didn't do much for me. Is the full album worth a listen? I might go ahead and get it if so...

Hako morf (はこモーフ) released their first album this week. It's sophisticated pop and definitely worth your time to listen in: http://www.hearjapan.com/mp3/ashita-kara-ganbaru/

Reading that Mirror article of the tour felt euphoric. A couple months before the first tour I would always look at the show adverts to see if yours was listed, but it never was :( But now, there is and I sorta wish I started picking up more physical copies of the Mirror again to have a hard copy of that. Oh well.. If you can ever form a street team in Montreal, I'm in ;)

thanks for putting in a request for our fav. sgt. song! even if it doesn't happen that was cool of you to ask. By the way, how do you say "sgt." when you are talking about it with someone? "sergeant"? "s-g-t"? "サルジント"? it's kind of embarrassing that i don't know, hehe

I wanted to tell you I think the Next Music From Tokyo tour is an amazing thing you're doing, both for the bands and for the fans. From reading the interview at Keikaku it seems like the bands get just as excited to come on the tour as the fans are to see them. I'm really looking forward to visiting Vancouver for the first time next week, as well as seeing some of my favorite Japanese bands live for the first time ever. You are the one that made this possible and I just wanted you to know how deeply grateful I am for all your hard work. Cheers

Thanks for anonymizing in most spots. In future posts you can just refer to me as N. it's easier to type out then my friend all the time.

I didn't respond like that and frankly I got a offended by how you rephrased my question in your Last.fm reply. It made me sound like I'm a prick, which I never intend on being. Also you used my name in that post without my permission and it felt like you made me feel kind of ignorant about the band and about hip hop in general. I know uhnellys are not just a hip hop band. They mix styles together. Also I am well aware you listen to different styles of music. It was not a jab in any way. I hope this was just a miscommunication, no hard feelings. I just thought you should know the way I felt about this.

I don't hate hip hop. I'm just extremely ignorant in that matter and not very motivated to get mysef into it. I tend to like it better when it's fun. Illreme is more my kind of stuff for example. And I fucking love group_inou...! hahaha ha. oh. well. -_-; This was a very informative post thanks, after watching this awesome live vid I really gotta give Uhnellys' Mawaru a try.

Conóceme

I'm a Japanese-Canadian born and raised in Vancouver but currently making habitat in the Tdot resident chill. (Toronto)

Hobbies include volleyball, basketball, snowboarding and going to shows... in Japan.
I actually love the Japanese indie music scene so much i travel to Japan every 1-2 months just to watch my favorite bands play and discover new ones. Yes, I'm a pho king otaku when it comes to underground Japanese music. Plus I just love hanging out in Shimokitazawa, Kichijoji and Koenji... looking for new music, drinking 生ビール & imo shochu (rokku or occasionally straight) and enjoying the great food. =)

IMy list of scrobbled music is a bit misleading but I'm working on tweaking it to better reflect my actual musical tastes.

Though Japanese Indie predominates my listening habits at the moment I'll always have love for underground hip hop and the 80s/90s punk/HC I grew up listening to.
