I guess I forgot to respond. Favorite 2013 album? I dunno, but Weekend's Jinx is the best one for driving, so it's my fav. by default. You should see this band What Moon Things tomorrow in Atlanta at some place called Mammal Gallery. Jimmy Graham will be a Saint until Brees retires.

Thanks for the add! Are you going to see Tori?

Yes, you should see Darkside. Last night they played Psychic in its entirety, in order, meaning no Daft Punk reworkings. Yes, we should and will franchise Jimmy Graham. I don't know, I'm basically a song person rather than an album person, but will think about it.

Blood Orange is very promising, but the production is pretty over the top, even for me. Deciding whether or not to see Darkside on Super Bowl night, but they seem boring unless one is a stoner bro. Give this link to anyone who needs to hear the Joy Circuit:

Listening to Pure Bathing Culture's "Pendulum" and HTRK's "Poison" nonstop in the car. Older discoveries are Trans Am's "Molecules," King Missile's "Sex With You" and most of what's in the two Summer '13 mix CD playlists I posted. Not sure who can beat the Saints this year

Your definition of fascism in the "commie" group was pretty neat, extremely coherent compared to the usual drivel about 'totalitarianism'. Was yours a quote or 'just' a conclusion of independent research?

That Codeseven song reminds me a lot of Effloresce-era Oceansize, meaning basically a cross between Deftones and Sunny Day Real Estate with some shoegazing. Impressive

Also Adam wasn't afraid to really SING. Mumblers bum me out.

Hey. Regarding bands similar to AB, not really. I run into songs that contain loose dreamy shoegaze that reminds me of Solarshift often. :-) I also run into girl/boy vocals that sound similar quite frequently. Those are pretty general things though, I haven't found anything that carries the same solid pop structures with the right...... tension. Does that make sense? Haha.

But you did attend that Cat Power concert instead of Spoon in '04, and that's what counts. I listened to Rhye when Pitchfork was all over them last summer or fall and made a mental note to follow them or see them live, but was not amazed by any particular song. Codeseven seems good if a little emo in the vocals, but I prefer when singers give a shit rather than try to sound passive and bored, so that's not a problem. Never heard Nightmare Air but I will go check them out now.

Hey Chris. Nah, I just got sick of the username I had - made it when I was 17. I wasn't able to change my username, so I just went through with the new account.

Merchandise is actually headlining; I submitted a correction request to PM me your address. I think you gave it to me about a decade ago, but I lost it.

I've never heard Chelsea Light Moving, but you have to see Merchandise and Talk Normal opening for them at the EARL on the 8th, if your gf's mom isn't making you do something else that night.

Yeah, I told myself I wouldn't, since I generally boycott "comeback albums" and it's basically just a Shields solo album. Should've stuck with my gut instinct. Your tracks stopped scrobbling last month, btw.

You are young and full of heart
You are light and you are dark
You are real but you are torn apart

And it's only a day away
We could leave tonight
You could sleep along the way
Dream in black and white.

Forget the future, these times are such a mess.
Tune out the past and just say 'yes'.
Put it all behind you.
