"CANADIAN ROCK LEAGUE" This last matchday had some surprises in 2nd and 3rd divisions with some changes in the relegation zone. You can see the last results in the group's mainpage. You can vote in matchday 13 here: CRL NEWS: #At next week will be played the 6th cup round. You can see the matches here: #If you didn't choose the 2 artists who will go to the 2nd division in the next season you can do it here: (I'm sorry to bother you, but the message system for the Canadian Rock League still fails)

The Royal Mile is lush, huh! I definitely want to go back to Edinburgh soon. End of year was okay, pretty hectic though (hence why I have taken so long replying). How was your Christmas and New Year? I did a fair bit of travelling during mine, hope yours was good and exciting!xo

sweet life, i wrote you a proper reply and then lost it all and i was disheartened for quite a bit :) so glad amsterdam was good, definitely worth another look though i'd also recommend any of the scandinavian capitals, stockholm, helsinki and copenhagen are all gorgeous. also, congrats on your moving into six digit scrobbles there! i will fb message you about coffee, looking forward to it :) x x x x

Smart move. And yeah, Glasgow's got a fairly high crime rate apparently but then you get that with any city, I guess. I don't know it massively well, it seems there are less "sights" there though - it's more about the bars and venues. It's got loads of great gigs on and I'd really recommend places like Tchai Ovna (a great wee tea house: ) but most of what I've seen is pretty understated.

gotcha! i hope you have a good time in amsterdam, recommend a walking tour if you're up for it though we did ours at 11am on new years day. massive mistake. still worth it though. i'm off for coffee but have an amazing time and i'll wait to hear from you when you're back. no expert opinion required on gt, in fact it'd probably intimidate me as i have little of worth to say on most records :) x x x x

loving your listening right now. so you're going to see jenny and johnny right? good. glad that's sorted :) i have had a few listens of new girl talk but not enough to know how i feel yet. i never can tell with follow-ups whether i like them less or i'm just less familiar but i'll sit tight and give it a shot. also, would i be crazy to go see him in montreal if i'm living in toronto? it's the only date in canada he's playing so if i can i will. must have been to amsterdam now no? how was that? i freaking love it there, we went for new year 09/10 and had a blast. fancy a coffee to discuss new gt? i'm Natalie Nall York UK Graduate 2010 on fb. x

Haha, well have no fear - there are plenty of places. Though it's worth looking them up first because even though they're there, you have to know where to find them. The Baked Potato Shop is a must and pretty hard to miss - it's on the street connecting Waverley station and Old Town. A good resource is I hope it helps. If you get a chance to go to Glasgow there's even more! Some places are exclusively vegan too which you do't usually come across (and made me happy). I did a fair bit of touristy stuff during the day and then just boogied the nights away. Also went to this place: which I'd highly recommend.

I'm not - sadly, I'm from a dingy town in Essex. However, one of my friends is a 'weegie so I'll be visiting them. Edinburgh's lovely; very clean, lots of cool veggie restaurants, some cool club nights. Went there last March on my own, knowing no one there, and had a blast. Agreed - I find it's such a shame I get so lazy with reading when I have a break from the course. I love the holidays because then I get so much more reading for pleasure done! That's always the best plan - I aim to do that too and, on the whole, succeed. Who knows if what I write is any good though!

That's awesome - where abouts in Scotland are you going? I'm going back to Glasgow at the end of December and I cannot wait! I didn't read myself to death over reading week (surprisingly), in fact I've done practically no reading - just got essays in and since then have as little as possible which I'm quite happy with.

happy birthday! mine was two days after and i spent it reading, working and eating waffles. you win. how did you wangle it? bet being a canadian didn't hurt... maybe i'll hang out backstage with british bands next year. i'm almost certain that's what's going to happen... so yeah, foals sold out now, i usually bank on norwich folk being a little slow on tickets but i underestimated them this time - never again, they're a fine people. well i hope you enjoy it :). i'm not around for the other couple of things i can see you're going to but i will be at jenny and johnny's gig at the nac in december, as yet on my own. let me know if you're going :) thought cc were great, so much better than i'd expected and i'd been told they were awesome. not a huge health fan but meh, diverted. but seriously, power to the castle.

ha, i would be over the moon... we'll see. excited about support too. i've never seen them before but i've heard they attract a pretty crazy crowd of younguns, should be fun! i'm headed for toronto initially but have family in smith's falls which i'm told is just outside ottawa. i've got a 12 month visa and no solid plan as yet so i'll see where my guts take me - cannot wait to check out the gigging! back in lil ol norwich i'm still deliberating seeing foals but can't find a buddy to go with so come say hi if you see a girl with white hair looking lonely! x

Sounds lovely! The entire southbank area, from the Globe, past the Tate Modern and up to the LDN eye/Southbank centre is a brilliant walk. I'd definitely recommend trying to align some of your trips there with gigs as well - the Koko, Luminaire, pretty much any of the venues in Camden/Soho are great. Only thing is last train back to Naaarge is 11:30 so you have to be wary of that if you're not staying in LDN.

Woah - coincidental or what?! Funnily enough another person I messaged from the UEA group is also doing Lit, madness! It's nice that LDN's not too far outta reach (though I'm closer to it back at home, only about 40 mins out as opposed to two hours). Whatcha got lined up there this weekend? I do love London so much, I'm there all the time.
