Fri 17 Dec – Lady Gaga, Semi Precious Weapons

okay, yesterday it was my 17th birthday and I went to see The Monster Ball in London. Me and my best friend Eleanor drove down and it took nearly 5 hours but it was worth it. The 02 was absolutely huge and we got lost inside it. We took to our seats at 6:30 and we realised we were on the back row right at the top! at first we were like -.- uh oh but we didn’t care at the end! When we got to our seats Lady Starlight was DJing and she was annoying so we were like “go do one, Starlight!” and when she came it was time for Semi Precious Weapons. They came on and I was singing my heart out…”I CAN’T PAY MY RENT, BUT I’M FUCKING GORGEOUS!” Eleanor however wasn’t so impressed. They went off around 7:45 and we were like OMG, GaGa next! and we received a text from Eleanor’s mum saying “if you have a fear of heights then you get moved down” so I pretended to have vertigo and it worked…I got moved down but Eleanor did not so we stayed together at the top! Finally at 9pm on the dot the lights went down and you suddenly heard the “D-D-D-DD” of Dance in the Dark and the Finally intro started. Determined not to cry I was dancing along to the music but then the count down was on…when it got to 1 I lost it and was close to tears and going absolutely mental. Then her shadow appears on screen and the song finally starts. I’ve been waiting for this moment for 2 and a half years. Until half way through the song you only see her shadow but the curtain was lifted during the “marilyn, judy, sylvia, tell em how you feel girls” part and I burst into tears. Throughout the whole show I was an emotional wreck but I managed to strangely pull it together during Speechless which is the song which people say they start crying at! She made a point during to show saying if she ever lip-synchs on stage, tv or at any point then it’s a lie and she would never do that. I felt so connected with her. She also made a point when someone threw a Barbie on stage saying how Barbies used to make her feel ugly, fat and weird during her school days. She started pulling the Barbie apart and finishing it off by looking at Barbie’s head (which she had severed from her body) and saying “Barbie, you’re a terrible bitch.” She did her ‎”don’t ever let anyone tell you that you aren’t good enough, that you aren’t brave enough, pretty enough, skinny enough, that you’re too weird, that you aren’t good enough at singing and dancing. be proud of who you are because baby, you were born this way.” speech and I started crying because I often feel several of the things she mentions in the speech. During Paparazzi and Bad Romance I nearly had a mental breakdown. The tears were streaming down my face and I felt dizzy from screaming!
The Monster Ball has set me free. I feel like I can be whoever I want and that the haters don’t matter. It’s safe to say I’m finding my inner sense of fame. All I can say is I’M A FREE BITCH, BABY!
