Dr Rubberfunk's Funky Christmas

16 Dic 2007, 13:07

Back in 2004 I was asked by BBC 6 Music to put together a few 10 minute mixes of Christmas based funk & soul tunes, and by 2005, when they asked me to do 3 more, it grew into the first volume of my Dr Rubberfunk Funky Christmas series. I made it available for download to a great response, so Volume 2 followed in 2006.

Since the Funky Halloween mix went online back in October, I've had lots of messages asking for another installment in the Funky Christmas series, so after much digging in the crates I'm pleased to announce that Volume 3 is finally here!

Volume 2

In other end of year type news, we'll be releasing a final EP of remixes from 'My Life At 33' in February 2008. A limited edition 12" will feature mixes of 'Theme For A Latter-Day Lothario' from Yam Who? and Lost Idol, alongside a mix of 'Taking Over' from remix competition winner Dan Shannon and bonus track 'Sunset Breakdown' - previously unavailable on a physical format. The digital downloads bundle features additional mixes of '...Lothario' from Hard-Fi dub co-hort Wrongtom and of 'Taking Over' from remix comp runners-up Broken Beatnicks. Coupled with a pair of B-boy style mixes of 'Watch The Tables Turn' from Germany's Switchstance Recordings crew, it's a bumper package alright!

When the dust has settled from that release, we'll be straight into another EP, this time for Jalapeno Records, who I've signed to for my next album ... more on that in the New Year ;)

So, it just remains for me to wish everyone and very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2008 - thanks for all the support this year, hope to see some of you celebrating NYE with me, DJ Vadim, Mr Thing and The Herbaliser at The Westbury.

Mince pies are on me ...
