Sab 23 Lug – ATP I’ll Be Your Mirror curated by Portishead

This was my first time in London! I had a one-week-holiday and I spent the actual sunny days of the week, indoor, to 'I’ll Be Your Mirror' at London’s Alexandra Palace. But it was worth every single minute!
Great people, great music and great location.

I didn't get the traffic system, I think that without it, I would have done half the steps I did, but this was just a detail!

However, I couldn't wait for the Portishead double set, and they didn't disappointed us! Beth Gibbons is a great singer, and there was a great feeling!

The great surprises of the week end were dd/mm/yy (I really liked the background animations '80 videogames style), Beak and GoodSpeed You(it was the first time I saw them)

As a Goldfrapp fan, another performance which I couldn't miss, was 'The Passion of Joan of Arc' composed by Will Gregory from Goldfrapp and Adrian Utley from Portishead. A really different kind of music (after this performance, in the room beside, there were 'Swans'), but it was nice to see how many people have listened to this group of great musicians, performing an absolute masterpiece.

In other words, there certainly wasn't a lack of variety, musically speaking!

I was curious for Anika, I like her cover of Yoko Ono's Yang Yang, but my feeling during her performance was that, while she sang, pointlessly adjusting her mic, she seemed to want to be in another place. She left the stage without a word, without a 'thank' to the few people who listened to her unexceptional performance, and maybe this was another thing that disappointed me a little.

The confirmations were PJ Harvey (How much I love her last album), GrinderMan (I am impatiently waiting for his next live performance, he shocked me sunday) and Caribou.

I'm sorry I missed the 'Swans' performance, I would have loved to listened to them, but just in that moment my wife didn't feel well, and probably their sound couldn't help her to get better!
