Oh, that's brilliant mate. Sounds like you've got a good partnership at the very least. Where did you two meet? If you get around to recording something, I'd love to have a listen. Yeah, we're going pretty well, I haven't seen James in about a week but I shall be going around on the weekend. We've got the main structures and music done, just need fleshing it out and to start recording.

Damn, that's pretty awful. Maybe 'Take Care' was a one off...

That's a great song. Cheers for that. Definitely following a theme there haha.

Virus eh, good call. I need to have a listen to them again soon. How do Wintersun sound all these years on?

I'll have a read and a proper listen tomorrow to their stuff. Listened to the first two songs though, they're bloody brilliant. There's a hint of Meshuggah in there but so much more too. Very impressed!

It's fantastic, I think. The folk parts are brilliant and there's definitely an ambient quality to it that I love as well.

That song you posted to me is pretty good. I like the proper ambient parts. Not too keen on the Steve Reich-ish beginning with the rhythmic electronica, and there are some parts that sound like Ian Boddy, who I'm not too keen on either. It's the parts towards the end when it feels like it has to do more than what it's doing to try and keep it interesting. A lot of good stuff in there, though.

Haha, well seems a bit like Waking Life. In fact is it some of the same people? You know what I still haven't you know. Shocking, as usual. I really should finish it. Too caught up reading Mysticism by Evelyn Underhill. Always seem to be sidetracked! Couple weeks now till Natural Snow Buildings by the way. Really looking forward to it actually.

That song is fantastic. I'm really impressed by that. Am I right in thinking it's a new Mothlite song? By the way, great to hear you enjoyed Natural Snow Buildings. They've got plenty of albums to try. Have a listen to Ghost Folks. That's great.

Thanks for the info on the David Sylvian album and the Lucky Mckee film. I'll be looking into them sharpish. I liked the sample you sent of the David Sylvian song. Reminds me of Basinski's 'Disintegration Loops' in parts. Hopefully you can get along to that gig too, I'm sure it'll be a good one!

He's a fantastic guitarist and with a nice voice to boot! How're you keeping anyway? I was also wondering if you were over these parts on the 7th March. Natural Snow Buildings are playing at a small venue in coventry. Looks like a one-off gig too, so I've got my ticket already. If you're over here it'd be great if you came along. I'm going to book my days off work for the gigs I've got. Got a couple with Sam and also that Meshuggah one in Wolverhampton.

Haha, that's mad. Those two tracks you mention are the two I love from the album. Fantastic stuff though, even as a whole. I'm extremely impressed and also surprised he decided to go in that direction. Just when I thought Kayo Dot wouldn't touch metal again, they go and make some of the strangest avant-metal I've heard. Thanks for the Bjork recommendation too, I'll make a note of checking that out,

What did you think of the new Kayo Dot? I think it's fantastic.

Ah okay. Yeah, I see what you're saying. I actually enjoyed that more than the Mark Lanegan album I listened to actually.

That's a nice song, just haven't heard of him before. Am I being stupid and missing a connection I'm supposed to know about or were you just showing me the song for its quality. I can't think what it reminds me of, but its lovely stuff.

Oh nice, glad to hear you're into Labradford. They make some lovely music, yeah. Really re-ignited my interest in post-rock and more ambient rock music.
