Why did you left Mariah Carey group?

I love Mariah, she's one of the best but I can't stand waiting... I want new album/music now! :)

I do like Mariah as a songwriter though. She can be fucking ridiculous at times but she does scorn and panache incredibly well. I always enjoy her bitter/jilted lover putdowns. Nothing spectacular but they're surprisingly relatable and slot in perfectly with her general persona.

The frustrating thing is I think she has it in her but she desperately needs fresh ideas and impetus from others as well. Darkchild and Jermaine Dupri are yesterday's news and continue to produce yesterday's sounds. If you're going to stick to one particular sound, like a lot veterans past their commercial prime often do, at least take it somewhere interesting every now and again... WickedProphet below me is speaking the truth as well. She needs to shake things up more as a songwriter. Even on some of her seminal albums, TEOM for instance, there are one too many frilly, lovelorn escapades. I think there's an over reliance on keyboard/piano driven arrangements/melodies as well (something that worked better in her pre '00s material). If some of her interviews are anything to go by, a piano is never too far away when she puts songs together. She seems to persist with it and it can get really tiring when constantly paired with derivative, fleshy urban beats. A change in approach is needed.

Yeah true. I think she needs to chill with the songs focused on love/love lost at this point. It doesn't even reflect her life at this point, she married with kids now. A song reflecting that would be amazing + fresh from her.

I give it a 7.5/10. Could've been better I agree. There was something missing

Finished TARS. Kylie's new take of "The Locomotion," imho, is the now definitive version. My girl Carole King should be proud. "Flower" and "Finer Feelings" are epic, the rest include a surprise or two, but majority are safe & elegant fare for the hardcore. Glad to own it however. :)

The "BIR Dolphin Mix," yeh it combines elements from the album & acoustic version. I think that song & SKoB are her lost singles. Really, really great works that had their thumb on the pulse of pop at their respective times without pandering. I love Kylie overall really though, something from every era moves me. I just picked up "The Abbey Road Sessions" yesterday (w/ the K25 Time Capsule). I haven't played it yet. I wish she would have included "Cosmic," "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi," "Chocolate," "Your Disco Needs You," among others, to kind of reinterpret over some of the ones that always pop up. I do love what she did with "Finer Feelings," one of her underrated moments period.

Thanks, I'm in the process of tightening it up. Her deConstruction era is my favorite, but I enjoy Kylie in each incarnation. "Kylie Minogue" (1994) is my favorite from her.

can't say I have, unfortunately, been in Kuala Lumpur for 5 years so we got missed out on the tours. Malkmus is a definite hero of mine though, and a little Mariah never hurt no one

Yes, he is very awesome. As a matter of fact, he is so awesome, he has another song uploaded titled "Content Providers are the Women of the World" - it is a part of the sleepwalker single. I think the title is a play on a Lennon song. As far as the website goes, he is unfortunately highly UNsophisticated with internet things. We're working on it, however, and when it is ready, you will be the first to know! Thanks for your support.

I love the older albums best. From the self titled to Washing Machine. For whatever reason, I'm not too interested in anything past that, but maybe that will change someday.

I don't think I could pick a fave. its for sure between Mama's Gun, Worldwide Underground and the latest one. I went crazy for it when it came out and it's now my most played of hers. (New Amerykah Part 2)

    Favorite Badu album?

  • crisdecoeur

It's good. A worthy set to add to her discography. Check cuts "Window Seat," "Gone Baby Don't be Long," & "Out My Mind Just in Time". Better yet just listen to the whole thing, I prefer it to New Amerykah pt. 1. It's a lighter listen. And I wasn't aware that M was inspired directly by Impossible Princess, but it certainly is evident on her own Ray of Light. Kylie is greatness in her own right, and deserves more recognition for her work.

Country,RnB,Soul,Pop her tarzı kullanmış.Sanırım benim en sevdiğim Beyoncé albümü :)

I'm trying to get into Stevie Wonder more, but the Marvin albums I was listening to were at first, one of his hits albums, then I got into What's Going On, I liked most of it and will revisit it, also the albums Let's Get It On, I Want You & Here, My Dear- all 70's albums. Though i wouldn't defer you from checking out his 60s stuff, I love his 60s output and highly recommend it.

its no secret I am a fan of a lot of commercial music ;) I feel like my taste is always changing though, lately I've been feeling the soul of Marvin Gaye a lot. Great stuff. Always on the hunt for the next thing I'm going to completely devour and get lost in.
