Funny, I guess "consistent" is a plus to me! Could be worse... although sometimes I do think they're a little too flawless, almost calculated, so maybe I see what you're saying. My favorite from Traffic & Weather was "New Routine," because the first verse was clearly written about me, although they obviously changed some of the details ;) I just like all their lovably hapless little everyday characters... who will we meet on the new one? P.S. "Hey Julie" IS perfect, but that's not embarrassing unless you know anyone named Julie and then it could be awkward.

yeah, i was disappointed the gone primitive tour didn't come to the philly area; i thought the keswick would have fit in perfectly with the kind of venues they were playing on this tour. because i am slightly insane and nostalgic for the solo tours of old, i ended up going on a mini-tour myself and caught the first 4 shows of the tour, the nyc show, and the final show in bloomington, in. it was totally worth it. i'm sure he'll be back to philly in the fall or early 2010 - john's always been good to philadelphia.

nice to make you e-quaintance (groan)! yes, bride is fantastic. and on the gone primitive tour i heard two other brand new songs that are even better. after the triumph of the moon colony bloodbath ep, my eagerness for the new album is really reaching even more of a fever pitch than usual.

The Decemberists were awesome. The music was fantastic and the they were a lot of fun to watch. We had some badass seats too - back row of the balcony haha.

Missed the Jews; went on an impromptu trip to the beach for the 8 ft. hurricane waves instead. I can tell you about my sunburns. Did you know Spoons is friends with Kaki King? (Allegedly.) Maybe that's my 'in' with Mtn Goats.

Yeah, my first listen through I was mostly just shocked at how different it was from their first album. I do like it a lot as well though.

Good call on the Apples! I liked them. I tried finding the others but my first search proved them to be too obscure for my resources..
