• My favorite albums of all time

    25 Ago 2006, 14:51

Not really in any order, except for the first one.

    El Cielo
Buy Our Intention; We'll Buy You A Unicorn

Violator: My parents used to play this all the time when I was a kid, so it brings back interesting memories. It's very sad and strange, but it's so good.

    The Battle of Los Angeles

    Origin of Symmetry
The new Muse album is good... very good... but I still think these are better. :)

    Happy Songs for Happy People
    Van Halen
    The Colour and the Shape
    Hybrid Theory
    Distorted Lullabies
    Fire Garden
    De-Loused in the Comatorium
    Young Mountain
    All At Once

That's all for now... perhaps I'll remember some more later.

  • Muse concert.... why am I not listening to dredg?

    31 Jul 2006, 17:42

I just saw Muse at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix not long ago, and man, it was awesome. We were pretty close to the stage on Chris, the bassists side. I always find it strange when they play Hysteria really early in their set.... it just seems like they'd want to play that one later, it's one of my favorite songs of theirs. I went crazy for Stockholm Syndrome, and they did a sweet outro for it. Ahh!!

Black Holes and Revelations is really growing on me. I still don't think it's as good as Absolution, but it's still super good. My favorite track so far is probably Map of the Problematique.

For some reason, I haven't been all that inclined to listen to dredg lately. I assume it's just a phase, and I'll probably go back to them sometime soon. As for now, it's been a lot of Muse, some Death Cab for Cutie and stuff like that.
  • Two Beautiful Bands

    17 Feb 2006, 0:30

Today I have been listening to This Will Destroy You and Caspian. I love when music sets my mood, because I have such a hard time setting it for myself. I love the Caspian CD, it's very moody and everything runs together which is great. I don't know what else to say really... I'm just in love with music. I feel like these bands really understand it, whatever that means.
  • New Music Galore!

    16 Feb 2006, 0:16

These past few days have been amazing, I've discovered so many incredible bands. I'll just mention a few.

One band I really like was He Is Legend, but I kind of outdid it. I listened to it too much. BUT... I think I found something way way better to kind of freak out to... Between the Buried and Me. They're amazing musicians, and I've never felt so riled up before, it's great.

The other band I discovered is Paulson. I don't know what it is, but I love the guys voice, and the drum beats are amazing. I'm just coming out of a kind of depressing time, and this music is just great because it's really upbeat, and it makes me happy in a non-cheesy way.

I was really into Mogwai for a while too, but I outdid that as well. I didn't think anyone else made that kind of music, but I was so wonderfully wrong. I discovered Hammock and This Will Destroy You, and they are both incredibly beautiful. Last night my friend and I just sat and listened to them in the dark while watching the visualization on Windows Media Player. It was perfect.

    I love finding new music.
