Hey, thanks for the compliment! It's great to know someone is actually reading my thoughts! tMG bootlegs are some of my favorite things to listen to EVER... I highly recommend collecting some of them! There are a bunch of great ones at (two of my favorites are Cow Haus, 1998 and Bowery Ballroom, 2007). Also, has several great ones: Beyond that, I'd recommend just checking out the "On the Road" section of the tMG forums, because links to other bootlegs pop up in there every now and then. Happy listening!

Hello hello hello. I have finally got around to looking at the Wildbirds & Peacedrums date and I am afraid I am unable to go, as it coincides with my 2-year anniversary (and very squarely falls in the category of music Ollie would label 'pretentious shite' without question) :( I am sorry! They were amaaazing when I saw them a couple years ago though, and that was in a scabby festival tent, so I imagine they'll be a million times more impressive this time around.

Haha, I do feel that bands who simply have loooooooooads of songs have an unfair advantage over those who do not on this thing- it would be interesting to see some kind of proportional thingy to take this into account. (I know I expressed that extremely poorly but I'm tired and can't be bothered to think of the right words, I hope you get what I mean...) PW is still winning my chart by over 100 songs, which seems weird as I haven't listened to him for ages! I don't tend to look at my overall playcount any more, I've been going through too many phases recently of listening to a band obsessively for about a week then forgetting about them. Ohhhhh I am fickle.

we have incredibly high compatibility considering the ones it lists that we have in comon are the only ones in our collective top 100's that match

Like I'm always telling you, don't get bogged down in the lyrical details, it's way more interesting when you only know a few words out of the chorus to any song... Becoming a bible scholar to understand what John Darnielle's on about sounds pretty interesting though. Btw, (I meant to leave a comment on your actual blog saying this but never got round to it so will do so here), that museum crawl you did sounds amazing!! I am very very jealous. Also, did you actually get to speak to your co-ordinator man today? I suppose I will find out the answer to that question shortly anyway, but I still feel I should ask...

Hello, did I lend you that Nada Surf you're currently listening to? I don't remember doing so, but my memory is quite faulty. I haven't listened to them for aaaaages, maybe I should.

Hahaha, I had my fling with spotify a couple months ago- in the end I decided there was just too much on there, and I'd be better off listening through the things I actually owned first. I am sorry to hear about new Regina, perhaps it would be best if I just don't listen to it :( I still haven't actually listened to the Hold Steady yet, I really should get round to that... I was about to bitch (as in just typed and deleted) about the PW show in November in London with the orchestra and gospel choir and anything, and how I couldn't go, but then I remembered you won't even be in the country let alone in London... weird. Have you thought about checking out who's playing in Vienna when you're there?

I bitched about not getting the bandstocks email through (before you forwarded it to me) on the PW artist page, and some random German girl messaged me within the half hour saying she felt sorry for me, and would send me the link if I wanted- how nice is that! I am now in a loving-humankind type mood :)

I think I will write an actual proper review of PW when I don't have a bastard exam to immediately revise for, but in the meantime, his twitter gives some background info on the Sheffield show...

I'll fight your housemate Anthony for her. Bet I could win, indie boys are always dead skinny right? Have listened to the Reg Spek songs, they both appear pleasing from first listen to me; which is the 'new' one and which is the 'old' one?

I knoooooow! You'd never know they were done by the same person were it not for her voice. I have decided I quite want to marry her.

Regina's is the BEST Hallelujah ever -the original second, of course. I'm mad about Blue lips and all the rowboats too, but now I need some actual albums of hers. Kapil came back from Berwick a year ago raving about 'on the radio', and now I know how that came about.

She did a song for Narnia?! That completely passed me by. And yes that song with Ben Folds was annoying. I actually haven't listened to her in aaaaaaages. Should I? Also, writing this is interrupting my writing you an actual proper email.

Well, I may try to rectify that at some point. If you want to turn into a dating service though, I really should be dating Dan. Our compatibility is 'super', namely because I think a large chunk of his music library originated off my laptop.

It's not very original, but I love music very much indeed. I am currently studying in London mainly because of this fact.

I like to think i'd listen to anything once, but there's probably a song out there somewhere which will prove me wrong.

I am somewhat given to overusing superlatives.
